zootfinster (179), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 6, 2008 While I can’t help but think that some one in Colorado had a bit much of their brew and made up the story about St Bridget, It is never the less a very nice beer. Chocolaty vanilla taste. Dark brown color whit a nice medium brown head Lingering pleasant finish. A nice beer.

Haslinger (640), Syracuse, New York, USA May 6, 2008 bottle, lots of fruit nose, very creamy head, vanillla, chocolate almost overly sweet. I thought it was too carbonated for a porter but it was delicious and I would buy again IlanMan (816), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA Apr 30, 2008 Pour is dark with very full and lasting tan head. Aroma was of strong vanilla, chocolate, and very light dark fruit notes. Taste was light chocolate finishing strong with more vanilla. This was a bit over carbonated for a porter and a bit sweet. Still not bad but probably will find a better porter for next time. sfontain (506), Columbus, Ohio, USA Apr 29, 2008 Dark, dark garnet with a medium, frothy, tan head. Aroma is surprisingly light; mostly chocolate and coffee; maybe a tiny touch of dark fruits. Flavor chocolate, roast, coffee, and a touch of vanilla. Medium-thick body; frothy; moderate sticky. Nice, easy-drinking porter. BEERGUY007 (206), Scotia, New York, USA Apr 26, 2008 This is the single greatest porter I have ever had. Smoky, chocolaty, coffee , what a nice beer. Nice dark color and tan head. I will get thisone again. georgekappus (296), Brookfield, Connecticut, USA Apr 25, 2008 Bottle. Pours a nearly opaque brown with almost no head. Aroma was deep roasted coffee, caramel, and molasses. Taste was bitter coffee, thin and a little watery. pumpkinheart (63), Aurora, Illinois, USA Apr 21, 2008 Bottle into English pint glass. Pours an uncharacteristically translucent ruby brown, even without much light passing through, with a dusty, wimpy head. Aroma is more sweet and acidy than I would expect from a porter, although some roastiness and (the dreaded overdoing of) coffee make appearances. Even before catching the flavor my first impression is of how thin this feel in the mouth. Almost astringent. The flavor seems to skew towards the overdone tendency to coffee up porters, but there is a bit of a high-pitched roastiness, not nearly enough flavorful tastiness to it. In the end, I feel this didn’t live up to the robust nature that a porter should have. jhumphries69 (717), Tyrone, Georgia, USA Apr 19, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours a very deep, clear, dark brown with deep, ruby highlights when held up to the light. The head pours a little thin, light tan in color, rocky, and heavily pocked. It leaves a lot of lace on the glass and doesn’t fade too quickly. The aroma starts thick and malty with a nice mix of caramel, dark chocolate, and coffee - almost like a decadent flavor of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. The flavor is nice and roasty but well balanced by residual sweetness. It starts like sweet coffee and semi-sweet chocolate and then gains in fruitiness by mid-palate. The esters provide a nice touch of treacle and raisins - both somewhat subtle. The finish is roasty with a nice - though not strong - level of bitterness. The mouthfeel is briskly carbonated, but not spritzy or over-carbonated. It gives a tingle to the front of the palate and a creaminess in the back. The creamy texture combines with the residual sugars to give impressions of lactose and milk stout. Overall, a nice porter - perhaps a little too sweet, but still tasty and very drinkable.
