| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 19, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours a very deep, clear, dark brown with deep, ruby highlights when held up to the light. The head pours a little thin, light tan in color, rocky, and heavily pocked. It leaves a lot of lace on the glass and doesn’t fade too quickly. The aroma starts thick and malty with a nice mix of caramel, dark chocolate, and coffee - almost like a decadent flavor of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. The flavor is nice and roasty but well balanced by residual sweetness. It starts like sweet coffee and semi-sweet chocolate and then gains in fruitiness by mid-palate. The esters provide a nice touch of treacle and raisins - both somewhat subtle. The finish is roasty with a nice - though not strong - level of bitterness. The mouthfeel is briskly carbonated, but not spritzy or over-carbonated. It gives a tingle to the front of the palate and a creaminess in the back. The creamy texture combines with the residual sugars to give impressions of lactose and milk stout. Overall, a nice porter - perhaps a little too sweet, but still tasty and very drinkable. rodneykm (109), Westminster, South Carolina, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 15, 2008 Bottle. High creamy and long lasting light brown head. Clear and very dark ruby body. Coffee aroma but unfortunately with soap notes, faint but its there. Very mild and surprisingly mild coffee flavor without the feared soap but instead it has something metallic that I don’t quite fancy. Low carbonation, short aftertaste. To me this is a disappointment compared to the other beers I have had from Great Divide. BMan1113VR (2813), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA

Aroma of flower and mocha. Taste is a nice malty porter with some coffe and chocolate undertones. Somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Not a bad one. slimchill (776), Austin, Texas, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 9, 2008 Bottle. Nose is sweet and slightly acidic chocolate and coffee. There’s something mildly fruity in there as well, sort of a cherry or raspberry aroma. Great looking brown head that laces nicely atop a nearly black bear with a light ruby tint. Good body, extremely smooth and robust. It carries across a well-rounded flavor profile touching on a chocolate acidity, some coffee roast and bitterness, and just a touch of citrus hops. Very well done. BOLTZ7555 (1070), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
