Commercial Description:
St. Bridget, a legendary Irish saint, created a sensation by turning her bathwater into beer. What better way to celebrate her worthy miracle than with our zymurgistic tribute to her feat, St. Bridget's Porter. St. Bridget's is a smooth, elegant, and chocolaty brown porter. Brimming with coffee and chocolate characteristics from dark barley malts, St. Bridget's is carefully hopped to provide the perfect complement to its malty robustness.

Bottle. High creamy and long lasting light brown head. Clear and very dark ruby body. Coffee aroma but unfortunately with soap notes, faint but its there. Very mild and surprisingly mild coffee flavor without the feared soap but instead it has something metallic that I don’t quite fancy. Low carbonation, short aftertaste. To me this is a disappointment compared to the other beers I have had from Great Divide.

Pours with a light brown, foamy head covering a black body. Some wavey lacing. Aroma of flower and mocha. Taste is a nice malty porter with some coffe and chocolate undertones. Somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Not a bad one.

Bottle. Nose is sweet and slightly acidic chocolate and coffee. There’s something mildly fruity in there as well, sort of a cherry or raspberry aroma. Great looking brown head that laces nicely atop a nearly black bear with a light ruby tint. Good body, extremely smooth and robust. It carries across a well-rounded flavor profile touching on a chocolate acidity, some coffee roast and bitterness, and just a touch of citrus hops. Very well done.

Dark leather with a tightly packed khaki head. The aroma is toffee, caramel, and fresh Starbucks coffee. The flavor is roasted malt, vanilla, and brown sugar. A bit thin but solid.

Pour: Dark brown with tints of red. A diminishing but clinging small tan head. Nose:coffee, chocolate malts hints of hops and barley. Taste: Deep coffee chocolate malt with a subtle roasted barley and a note of hops on the end. Body: Medium to thick Finish Slightly acidic. Overall a very surprising and good porter but a bit over powering a bit unbalanced.

Poured to a huge head even when careful. The aroma began to emerge on the pour. There was chocolate mixing with all sorts of roasty delights. The head stayed heavy with good lacing for quite some time. The taste was very smooth for a porter. I loved the balance and the after taste on the palate. A porter I would go back to for sure.
