There was chocolate mixing with all sorts of roasty delights. The head stayed heavy with good lacing for quite some time. The taste was very smooth for a porter. I loved the balance and the after taste on the palate. A porter I would go back to for sure. faroeviking (6023), Republica Vikingo de las, Faroe Islands

Bottle. Pours a pitch black colour with a nice creamy light brownish head leaving a good lacing. Nice roasty maltiness in the aroma along with bitter hops and chocolate. Quite good mouthfeel. The roasted malt, the bitter hops, chocolate and the bit of coffee gives this beer a flavour of a real porter. Soft roasty maltiness in the finish along with chocolate and bitter hops. Nice one!

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 23, 2008 Poured a dark cherry brown. There were red highlights at the edges of the glass. There was a thin head. The aroma was very mild, hard to distinguish any specific scents. The taste was also mild. The initial sense was of a smokeyness. Then there was a mild taste of a dark chocolate. This was a very nice mild, easy drinking beer. BeerFanDan17 (610), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA

Flavors were rich and chocolately but no overbearing. Smooth and not overpowering due to the 6% abv. Poured dark with a nice frothy head. Oxymoron (104), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 21, 2008 Pours a soupy dark black color. The head was very tall and sudsy. I couldn’t even pour it all in my glass at first. There are some color distortions when tipped or held to the light. More of a brown color. The head has an off white but mostly tan color and limited lacing but still there. The smell is slight with some coffee and more of a richer dark chocolate flavor. Some limited sweeter chicory notes are present as well. The taste is rich. A rich chocolate flavor that becomes more prominent as it warms. Other notes of coffee are more noticeable at first but decrease over time. Overall the malt is the most nominate of flavors but other noticeable characteristics come out more. There is a sweet almost milky quality at first. Also as it warms more of the earthy hopes are present. I think I can detect Northern Brewers as well. The beer is really carbonated which gives a zingy taste to it. Almost makes it taste watery. But this flavor is decrease over time. And then that carbonation flavor turns into a more smooth creamy flavor.
