Commercial Description:
St. Bridget, a legendary Irish saint, created a sensation by turning her bathwater into beer. What better way to celebrate her worthy miracle than with our zymurgistic tribute to her feat, St. Bridget's Porter. St. Bridget's is a smooth, elegant, and chocolaty brown porter. Brimming with coffee and chocolate characteristics from dark barley malts, St. Bridget's is carefully hopped to provide the perfect complement to its malty robustness.

Black with a fizzy white head. Chocolate and roasty aroma. Coffee and chocolate taste with a dry roasty finish.

If you like Yeti you might like this. Seems like both have the same strange after taste. Maybe it is just the way it is brewed at Great Divide, but I am not a fan of it. There is a strange almost fishy aroma and the taste is not any better. Very dull beer and probably my least favorite porter ever. The after taste is equally strange and I want to clean the palate immediately. From the commercial description: "St. Bridget, a legendary Irish saint, created a sensation by turning her bathwater into beer. " Maybe that is part of the problem!

Pours a dim brown color with almost no head. Aroma is slightly smoky, with a sour milk type hint......maybe the bathwater? Taste is thin and smooth, with some chocolate and coffee tones. Reminds me of several milk stouts in terms of mouthfeel.

Pour is a thin-looking dark brown, semi-clear, and head disappears fast leaving no lace in its place. Nose and flavors both weak and in the salt-free soy sauce vein. Not roasty. A bit lactic. Thin, bland, boring. A disappointment.

A robust porter at a deep discount, not sure of the age but it’s in real nice form. Dark brown almost black color, thin filmy tan head and moderate lacing. Roasted chocolate aroma with hints of cream, peat, and caramel. A whiff of Pacific Northwest hops is also detectable. Mouth feel is sweet at first from a medium malt body, then turns to a pleasant burnt bitterness. A little thin, especially considering the depth of flavor. Flavor is nutty with a good helping of roasted/burnt malts. Chocolate sweetness with great nuances of fermented plums and figs. Mellow floral hops make an appearance. A touch of star anise and vanilla round out the well blended flavors. There is also a nice subtle smoky aftertaste. Overall this porter feels like it’s spent some quality time in the bottle, the medley of flavors and aromas seem to be in great form.

From bottle : Pours a dark brown color with some red highlights when held to the light. A half finger of very nice rocky offwhite head, with nice lacing. Nose is very nice, big malts and roasted smell, some chocolate and maybe a hint of caramel malts once it warms. Taste has a hop presence at the end, but some nice malt flavors throughout. Medium body, oily smooth palate, and a malty aftertaste. Pretty good porter.

Pours black with a tan head. Has a faint chocolate aroma, but the chocolate flavor is much stronger and is accompanied by a roasted coffee tone. Not a bad porter.
