Aroma was dominated by chocolate and coffee. Flavor was also of chocolate and coffee, but was balanced by a nice hoppiness. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 15, 2008 Bottle. Nearly black in color with a creamy, slightly off-white head. Rich aroma of roasted malts, coffee and bitter chocolate. with the hops lurking in the background. Nice, smooth creamy palate and flavor of those same malts and bitter chocolate plus a bit of hop bitterness for good measure. I enjoy a good porter and this is a very tasty example. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jan 13, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a light brown with a thin off white head that recedes to a thin film and leaves some lacing.
The aroma is sweet and roasted chocolate malts with some vegetal notes.
The flavor is sweet lactic chocolate with a roasted coffee finish with decent bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium to thin and watery.
Overall, a decent but pretty unremarkable porter. It is one of GD’s better "regular" beers. cab (863), Denmark

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jan 7, 2008 Bottle, bought @ Ølkonsortiet, Aalborg. Pours a deep brown with a medium foamy yellowish head. Aroma has lots of dark chocolate, lightly roasted and sweet. Fin and lightish mouthfeel. Flavour is quite ashy dry, super roasted with dark coffee powder. A little too sharp and one-sided, but dries out well. Smooth finish, and a nice bite. Not quite a beamish, but cleaner than a guinness
