Commercial Description:
St. Bridget, a legendary Irish saint, created a sensation by turning her bathwater into beer. What better way to celebrate her worthy miracle than with our zymurgistic tribute to her feat, St. Bridget's Porter. St. Bridget's is a smooth, elegant, and chocolaty brown porter. Brimming with coffee and chocolate characteristics from dark barley malts, St. Bridget's is carefully hopped to provide the perfect complement to its malty robustness.

One of the best porters Ive had so far. Very dark, almost black with a rich smokey aroma. Tastes of espresso and a hint of bitter chocolate. Long finish.

Very dark brown with a red hue. Frothy, big beige head. The aroma is roast, I sense more caramel than the coffee and chocolate the brewery describes though. Perhaps a little wood, a little licorice. Also some American hops poking through the darkness. Flavour is dry, quite hoppy and the roastiness is indeed more like ash than the classic charcoal. Nice and lasting roast and slightly smoked aftertaste.

Feb. 2006 - Yeah, my numbers are all over the place. Smelled awful (like burnt coffee), looked beautiful). Flavor is bitter, smoky, roasted coffee...but remarkably smooth mouthfeel. I don’t even know if I liked this...it’s just too darned burnt tasting. DFH Chicory Stout has that smokey taste, but without tasting (or smelling) like someone ran the beer through ash beforehand.

Bottle. Pours black with small tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee. Flavor is coffee, roasted malts, and hints of chocolate. Flavor is not really robust, but it is well balanced. The mouthfeel is a little thin, almost watery but well carbonated and still pleasant. A solid porter, but not outstanding.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle from Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St Paul, MN. Pours an almost opaque dark brown brew with some red highlights and a thin light brown head. ARoma of dark roasted malt, some flowery hops on top of some chocolate and coffee scents. Taste is medium to full bodied, light carbonation with flavors of dark roasted malt, some chocolate and even a little smoked wood. Finish is semi-bitter with a dark roasted malt and chocolate aftertaste. Nice texture to this brew.

Poured a dark black color with red edges. Aroma was of roasted chocolate and coffee. Flavor was nice blend of coffee chocolate and smokeiness to it. Mouthfeel was a tad on the thin side but overall i was a fan.

Black with brown to garnet highlights. Smell of chocolate and coffee from the malts. Sweet like flavor in the taste just not quite robust. Still pretty good.

35,5cl bottle. Pours pitch black with a creamy brown head & amazing lacings. Aroma is roasted malts - chocolate & smoke mainly. Filling & smooth body. An ashy edge & chcolate dominates throughout. Bitter roasted end. Pretty good, though not the best brew from Great divide, not the worst either!
