Pours a nice dark chocolate color with a big bubbly foamy tan head. Tastes like burnt coffee and roasted malt. Pretty good but still has that yeasty aftertaste bite that I am not crazy about. thomat (666), Göteborg, Sweden
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 21, 2007 Dark brown ( almost black ) with a thick tan head. Tones of malt and chocolate. Roasted coffee and high carbonation.
Medium body with a dry finish. AR (423), Georgia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 18, 2007 An interesting combination of flavors. The initial sips hit with a hoppy citrus taste that jumps out at you. This quickly dissipates into a nutty, chocolate malt. Good combination with pronounced differences in the flavoring. f351c4v (404), Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 18, 2007 Pours an almost-black color with almost no head. Aroma is of slightly smoked malts, faint coffee, and that smell when it first starts raining (does it have a name...?). Anyway, thin mouthfeel for a ’robust’ porter, but not too watery. Again, roasted malts make a brief appearance. No strong flavors to mention, and average porter. Beerlando (2310), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 14, 2007 Deep, dark mahogany pour. Off-white head that starts out big but eventually settles to a thin rim. Spotty lacing. The aroma is of roasted barley, coffee, chocolate, biscuit, and faint smoke.. The flavor follows suit, with mocha up front, followed by roasted barley, oats, coffee bitterness, and some hops. The body is very smooth and creamy. There are no surprises here. This brew has all of the standard porter aromas and flavors. Nothing out of the ordinary, but very well crafted. Nice brew. CigarsLoveBeer (153), Illinois, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Aug 6, 2007 Bottle: Slight citrus notes on a otherwise typical chocolate porter nose. In the mouth I was disapointed to note cherry sweetness. I love that fruity nuance in an English pub ale, but I can’t stand it in a porter. Weak body didn’t help this beer out either. Sad, their Titan kicks so much ass, I was hoping for something similar with this porter. Back to Koff... biznizness (934), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 3, 2007 Hey, nothing to complain about here... this was a really good porter. Very dark and roasty and yerm. I have a number of Great Divides in the fridge... hopefully they are all this good. GuilTTy (531), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 31, 2007 Deep mahogany pour under a thin and rocky light beige head. Mild coffee and roasted malt aroma. Flavor is bittersweet chocolate, coffee, vanilla and dark roasted malt. Texture is a bit thin and the finish is slightly sweet. Not a bad porter but not worth searching out and not quite up to the standards Great Divide set for themselves with their Yeti and Hercules.
