Commercial Description:
St. Bridget, a legendary Irish saint, created a sensation by turning her bathwater into beer. What better way to celebrate her worthy miracle than with our zymurgistic tribute to her feat, St. Bridget's Porter. St. Bridget's is a smooth, elegant, and chocolaty brown porter. Brimming with coffee and chocolate characteristics from dark barley malts, St. Bridget's is carefully hopped to provide the perfect complement to its malty robustness.

Bottle 3/14/07 Early start to St. Patty’s day, thought we start with his sister Bridget. Not bad for a Porter, haven’t had a bad one yet, no so much robust, especially no long lasting it somewhat hit you at first but didn’t have any carry. Sorry lads and lasses

The color is black with carbonation that sticks to the glass. Looks like dark root beer in consistency. the head is fairly thin, light tan, and slighty frothy. The aroma is slightly sweet, some molasses, coffee. The flavor is lightly roasted, sweet, coffee, chocolate, and slight alcohol harshness. It had a fairly warm palate and finish with light sweet roastiness in it. Overall a very solid brew with a lot of good attributes.

Pours a dark brown with garnet highlights and clarity; head is beige, average, and pillowy. Some creamy longevity on the head with minimal lacing. Dark chocolate nose with a decent earthy hoppiness, mild coffee roast, and some cocoa; pleasant. Similar flavor with dark chocolate and dark caramels to match restrained roast and some coffee acidity. Moderate low bitterness from earthy hops but well balancing when added to the roast and acidity. Palate is almost medium, lively, but still smooth and almost silky. Finishes average length with some coffee and drying out nicely. Fairly standard robust porter; no bad qualities, but nothing any great intrigue.

Darkish brown body with a medium brownish white head. Aroma is a combination of cocoa and molasses, not very pungent. Flavor is similar with a light hoppiness, a delicate molassesy sweetness and a hint of cocoa. A nice, drinkable porter.

Pours a dark brown, somewhat light compared to other porters though. The aroma is mild with chocolate, coffee, and raisins coming through most strongly. The flavor is lightly hopped with a nice sweetness. Molasses, coffee, and vanilla are all evident and tasty. The mouthfeel is just a slight bit thin, but otherwise ok. Overall a pretty good porter. Nothing remarkable one way or the other.
