TheBeerBaron (218), Florida, USA Feb 24, 2007 Bottle. Black brown color, big orange foamy head. Molases and chocolate aroma with some raisin. Bubbly and light on the pallete. Taste is awfully bitter. Hopping was taken too far. Combined with the light watery tastes its not one of my favorite. Sour Porter. frankenkitty (1900), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Feb 23, 2007 Pours deep mahogany with a thick, holding tan head. What an awesome aroma! Perfect... chocolate malts, coffee, roastiness, sweetness/bitterness, light smoke, a hint of dark fruit... nothing wrong in the aroma department. Excellent for the style (or for the "malted genre" in general). Mouth is a little thin and dry, but the flavors are damn solid. Comforting, bittersweet chocolate... with just a drop of alcohol to remove you from your safety-zone. I’ve GOT to get out to Denver again...

jonwayne4883 (401), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Feb 14, 2007 nice medium dark color and medium head. great porter with some hints of choc and coffee. Not the best, not the worst, but a good porter nonetheless. mynameisjonas (206), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Feb 14, 2007 great porter. there is a lot of taste in this beer. there are hints of chocolates in it as well. some coffee characteristics as well
jblendy (518), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA Feb 10, 2007 Pours ruby-hued very dark brown with a big frothy beige head. Lots of anise, chocolate, and coffee in the aroma, with a nice undertone of caramel and dark fruit. Flavor is similar to the aroma, but mostly bitter coffee and chocolate are present. Palate is medium and pretty average. Nicely balanced and easy drinking, but still an average porter. redlight (1445), Winter Park, Florida, USA Feb 9, 2007 Roasted coffee and chocolate in the aroma, some vanilla. Pours dark brown/black. Big roasted malt up front, some coffee, chocolate smooth vanilla after taste. Not bad but nothing reall special bhensonb (4187), Woodland, California, USA Feb 8, 2007 Strong toasted malt aroma with backing of coffee and chocolate. Dark brown color. Beige head that left rapidly. Starts with chocolate, but the tongue is quickly overwhelmed with harsh coffee. And the chocolate quickly comes back. Dry. I think there’s hop, but the coffee is strong enough to render that issue confusing. H... of a porter. beerbuzzmontreal (2909), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Feb 7, 2007 Pours a dark brown color with ruby highlights and a thick, frothy, light brown head. Average aroma and flavor of coacoa and roasted malt with a dry finish. The body is light with an oily texture and moderate carbonation. Not bad but I’m used to better beers than this from Great Divide.
