Commercial Description:
St. Bridget, a legendary Irish saint, created a sensation by turning her bathwater into beer. What better way to celebrate her worthy miracle than with our zymurgistic tribute to her feat, St. Bridget's Porter. St. Bridget's is a smooth, elegant, and chocolaty brown porter. Brimming with coffee and chocolate characteristics from dark barley malts, St. Bridget's is carefully hopped to provide the perfect complement to its malty robustness.

Dark brown with a soft creamy white head. Smells ok, faintly of some dried fruit, but also a powerful sense of some kind of earthiness. The flavor is rich at first but gives way to a dirty flavor. Maybe I had a bad bottle.

Medium creamy beige head over hazy dark red body. Dense aroma of wild berries and pine needles with notes of caramel pudding. Dense pine needle taste with blackberry and caramel pudding notes. Aftertaste of burnt toast and hops. It’s good, but disappointing for Great Divide. (0.33l bottle.)

A dark porter with reddish hues and a thin light moka head. Light herbal chocolate with cold coffee, and nutmeg notes. In mouth, a light dark chocolate with vanilla beans, roasted coffee beans, and a lingering bitterness and light acidity. Short in mouth, medium bodied. Bieropholie import, 2005.

Probably the most distinct porter I’ve had in regards to a stand out flavour. One word describes this thing really. NUTTY. Really distinct and strong. It’s like dumping some various nuts, heavy on the peanuts, into an ashtray, laying down some malts and coffee and putting them back. I wanted more chocolate though, and I was fresh out when I drank this. truly something else here, and yummy, though it looses points classified as a porter.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) A black beer with a reddish hue and a small, beige head. Aroma of lightly burned malt and aroma hops. Full, cream-like body with lots of hard roasted/burned malt. Lightly soapy edge before a dry end. 200706

pours dark brown or black that looks a bit redish brown when held to the light. medium bubbly brownish head. the aroma was small and not impressive hints of chocalate, coffee, and undertones maltiness. the flavor is luckily a bit bigger featuring chocalte prominently along with coffee. nice roasted malt flavors are also present. unfortuantely the flavor does not get more complex then this. finish includes a light hoppy bitterness. mouth feel is quite thin.

Poured from the bottle a dark brown/black with a slight head. Malt aromas mixed with chocolate and coffee. A bit thin in body for a porter, but a balanced flavor of malts with a hint of a hop bite in the finish. Not the best porter, but a nice drinking beer.

Pours a dark brown with a small quickly dissipating head. Aroma is alright with hints of coffee, chocolate and caramel. Mouthfeel was suprisingly very thin for this one based on aroma and style. Not much substance to it on the palate but there are a few nice flavors of roasted malt. More body and head retention would have improved this on greatly.
