Hansen (2235), Randers, Denmark Apr 30, 2009 Dark brown, almost black. Clear. Beige head, mostly lasting. Flavor is sweet, malty, port, floral. Flavor is mainly sweet. Coffee comes after a while. Roasted. angrypirate06 (678), Texas, USA Apr 27, 2009 Dark brown pour with small off white head. Aroma of dark roasted malts, raisins, very nice aroma, hint of coffee. Excellent flavor for a porter, dark malts, light coffee and earth, dirt, and just a hint of smoke. Not a big fan of the really smoky porters, and this one was a great balance. thejon375 (390), Tampa, Florida, USA Apr 24, 2009 Decent porter. Pours a thin dark brown with thin tan head. Good flavors of choc and coffee but could be emphasized a little more. Really malty on the finish with a slight copper taste. yemenmocha (344), Glendale, Arizona, USA Apr 22, 2009 Pours almost black, dark brown, with off white head that lasts rather well. Nice and thick at first pour.
Nose offers toffee and spent coffee grounds. Palate brings the coffee through, more like robusta coffee from a can though, with some dark chocolate. Dry coffee flavors again on the finish. Reminds me of gas station coffee. fallingleaves (13), Colorado, USA Apr 19, 2009 Uneven carbonation, pours with a 1 cm head, sweet coffee aroma. Crisp coffee taste, followed a quick hoppy finish. A very approachable porter. GardenGabe (125), Denver, Colorado, USA Apr 17, 2009 Pours dark and opaque with a creamy head. Smells of roasting coffee beans and chocolate. Taste is balanced male and hops just what you want a porter to be. Thin on the pallate but not atypical. This is a great beer. thefrutigers (100), , Arizona, USA Apr 16, 2009 bottle 355ml: poured dark opaque brown with a light brown head that didn’t last for long. I smelled bitter chocolate and the roasted malt coffee smells. It is completely drinkable and agreeable to the palate, but not mindblowing. A bit thin with a light lingering bitterness with a slight smoke flavor. Overall not bad but not superior, but pretty good to enjoy anyway. Birdiebeagle (778), Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 15, 2009 Bottle Pours a nice black with a light tan head. The heads lasting ability is okay. The laceing is okay also. Has a good coffee and chocolate aroma. Has a good carbination. Also has a good mouthfeel. A medium body. Watery to oily texture. Blended very well and some good flavors on the taste buds. Has a pretty good finish. As I drink more porter I seem to love them more and more. This one did not disapoint me.
