Rustyham (545), miami, Florida, USA Apr 11, 2009 Roasty Smoky, dry- not sweet. Musky. Didn’t like it. $4 bottle at Zeke’s on Miami Beach topherh (878), Kearney, Missouri, USA Apr 6, 2009 Pours a deep brown with ruby showing through and a nice one finger off whit e head. Aromas of roasted malts, coffee, and a little chocolate. Flavor is roasty malt, a hint of bitter chocolate and hops. fishonmyplane (124), Newington, Connecticut, USA Apr 3, 2009 This beer was a little disappointing for me, because their Yeti Imperial Stout is one of my all-time favorite beers. In terms of appearance, it lets a lot of light through, and the head is tall and fizzy due to overcarbonation in the beer. The flavor is pretty good, although it pales in comparision to Smuttynose’s beer of the same name. smith4498 (822), Miami, Florida, USA Mar 31, 2009 Pours dark brown with tan head. Aromas of burnt malts and coffee. Roasted malt flavor with some coffee. A hint of chocolate sweetness with a bitter finish. Medium to full body with moderate carbonation. ThaBobfather (178), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Mar 29, 2009 Great deep black, brown color with think head. Smells great. The flavor is malty with a hint of bitter on the back end. Very even mouthfeel and is good but not great. Brewbie (217), New York, USA Mar 29, 2009 12oz bottle. dark ruby with a big tan head. aroma of nuts and chocolate. light hoppy taste with a nice malt current running thru. smooth light cocoa finish. nice beer. JPorterman (2), Ohio, USA does not count Mar 29, 2009 Was pleasantly surprised. Full bodied, moderate richness w/ chocolate undertones. Nice clean finish w/o being overly hoppy. Passed my "so-sad-my-bottle-is-empty" test. Will purchase six pack if my Fullers or Founders Porter is sold out. JaBier (1130), Capital City, Ohio, USA Mar 26, 2009 Sampled at the GD tasting at Blacklick Wine and Spirits on 3.26.09. Dark brown pour with a medium tan head. Semi-roasted malt aroma with a bit of chocolate. Malty chocolate flavor with lots of coffee and some hop in the finish. A bit hoppy for a porter, but not too over the top.
