Commercial Description:
St. Bridget, a legendary Irish saint, created a sensation by turning her bathwater into beer. What better way to celebrate her worthy miracle than with our zymurgistic tribute to her feat, St. Bridget's Porter. St. Bridget's is a smooth, elegant, and chocolaty brown porter. Brimming with coffee and chocolate characteristics from dark barley malts, St. Bridget's is carefully hopped to provide the perfect complement to its malty robustness.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow & tupalev -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with a spare light-brown head. Aroma of vanilla, coffee, chocolate and spices. The flavour is quite tasty with the chocolate being most prominent along with roasted malt and coffee. I did find it a little too mild and watery -- yes I know that’s characteristic of Porters -- but this one was milder then some better Porters I’ve had. Still, it tastes good, goes down easy and I still recommend it.

Tap at Great Divide. Pours dark brown to black with a tall creamy tan head. Coffee and toffee aromas with oak and fruit(berries). Dark chocolate and coffee flavor with oak notes. Dark and fizzy yet smooth full bodied palate.

Bottle. Pours with a big bubbled tan head. Aroma is cherry and chocolate with a mellow hoppiness. Taste has a mellow sweetness to it with some sweet fruits. Some grape to go along with the chocolate thats trying to be bitter. Not smoky enough and not enough chocolate for me but the mouthfeel is right on as is the body and appearance.

Bottle. Poued a medium sized tan frothy head that was mostly lasting, fine-medium sized bubbles, no visible carbonation, opaque, and a dark brown hue. Aroma was lacking for this style-malty, chocolate and some light coffee notes. Flavor was malty and coffee. Very disappointing for this style IMO. Rather lackluster. Smooth mouthfeel. Drinkable but nothing outstanding IMMHO.

Draft at Max’s.Opaque blackness. Small tan head. Nose is sweet with roasted malts, chocolate and light sweetened coffee aromas. Taste is sweet malts, almost a milk chocolatey type flavor, light roastiness, and sugared-and-creamed coffee. Body is light-medium and very creamy. Very smooth. Finishes with more sweet malts, pleasant roastiness, choco-notes and light coffee.

Rerate Much better this time around, more chocolatey flavor noticed and a better, cleaner mouthfeel. Original 3.1 Picked up at Whole Foods in Austin, Tx. Dark, black tar pour with a tight, but long lasting mocha colored head. Sweet, hard to place aroma, kind of reminds me of caramel or toffee candy. Flavor has some chocolate notes, with a bit of coffee thrown in for good measure. Flavor is just a bitoff though, has a bit of a sighlty rancid fruit quality to it. Mouthfeel starts off thick and creamy, but metalicizes and thins out near the end. Had better porters.

12 oz bottle. Poured a clear dark brown-red color. Head was thick and light tan. Aroma was of cereal grain, light molasses, and subdued chocolate. Slightly sweet on the tongue with chocolate, molasses, and modest roasty malt flavors. Decent porter.
