Commercial Description:
St. Bridget, a legendary Irish saint, created a sensation by turning her bathwater into beer. What better way to celebrate her worthy miracle than with our zymurgistic tribute to her feat, St. Bridget's Porter. St. Bridget's is a smooth, elegant, and chocolaty brown porter. Brimming with coffee and chocolate characteristics from dark barley malts, St. Bridget's is carefully hopped to provide the perfect complement to its malty robustness.

Pours with a light brown, foamy head covering a black body. Some wavey lacing. Aroma of flower and mocha. Taste is a nice malty porter with some coffe and chocolate undertones. Somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Not a bad one.

Pours a dark brown color with ruby highlights and a thick, frothy, light brown head. Average aroma and flavor of coacoa and roasted malt with a dry finish. The body is light with an oily texture and moderate carbonation. Not bad but I’m used to better beers than this from Great Divide.

Aroma of dark fruits, some coffee and licorice. Black coloured with a brown head. Taste is sweet with licorice, dark fruits and coffee malts. Some alcoholic tones. Not really great.

Sample at Bodega. This beer is a nearly opaque dark reddish-brown color with a medium thin beige head that dissipates slowly. Spotty lacing. Caramel and chocolate in the nose along with a touch of coffee. Medium, smooth (almost thin) body with flavors of chocolate and weak coffee, plus mild hops. The finish is coffee and burnt malt. Slightly above average overall.

Aroma of milk chocolate, caramel and malt. Darkest brown, red at the edges, a tight finger of tan foam head, some pretty lace. Flavour of weak coffee, chocolate, caramel, malt and some hops. Really well balanced, light bodied, bitterness strengthens as it warms. Pretty decent. Thank You wohlfs.

Poured out really dark as a porter should. There is a thin off white head of foam. Aroma has the classic black patent roasted malts smell and not much else. Good flavor. The malts come off as highly roasted and dry leaving a mild aftertaste. The beer seems a little too one dimensional. Maybe it could use a slightly more complex malt profile. Just nothing really stands out.

From the bottle, pours very dark brown, almost black, with a medium light brown head. Aroma of chocolate sweetness, hops, and slight metallic note. Taste starts smooth and sweet with chocolate up front, lighter body, and some roasted coffee in the finish.

12-oz. Pours a deep matte grainy ebony-black. Big thick foamy tan head that leavea decent scattered clingy lace. Humongous chocolatey nose, with some caramel malt in there as well. Assertive but not overbearing attack: medium body, medium carb, some fairly present flavor: chocolate again, biscuit and toast underneath, some mild light hop at the end, just enough to keep it from turning chalky. This is a really nice inoffensive mainstream porter that I’d happily drink all the time, especially if I had made it myself. Not sure if I need to go to the store to buy it, but I’d be psyched to find it on draft.
