Commercial Description:
St. Bridget, a legendary Irish saint, created a sensation by turning her bathwater into beer. What better way to celebrate her worthy miracle than with our zymurgistic tribute to her feat, St. Bridget's Porter. St. Bridget's is a smooth, elegant, and chocolaty brown porter. Brimming with coffee and chocolate characteristics from dark barley malts, St. Bridget's is carefully hopped to provide the perfect complement to its malty robustness.

Ok, not a bad beer, but not much distinguishable in this one than many another. Poured a dark brown-black with no mahoganey edges noted and a fairly whimpy head that did manage to lace well. The aroma was typical for a porter-stout, coffee and some hops (mild pine) most notable. Flavor was chocolate-coffee with a definite hop presence, although the latter wasn’t overdone. Finishes mildly bitter with a light roasted touch. A very likeable beer, but hard to distinguish from the others like it out there. Mouthfeel was medium. Second tasting: unchanged opinion. Coffee is the feature here.

Bottle: Poured a black color porter with a small off-white foamy head with average retention. Aroma of faint chocolate malt with some roasted malt. Taste is pretty dry with some chocolate note and slightly bitter finish. Body is about average with some medium carbonation. Overall, this is a good and well balance example of a porter but lacks a bit of character to make this truly memorable.

Pours with a dark brown body topped by a medium thick, off-white head with a good amount of lacing. It’s sweet and malty with underlying bittersweet chocolate notes. Medium to full bodied and smooth yet dry.

This one has a dark brown body and a very large, meringue-like head. There’s a roasty aroma like smoked coffee. There’s more of the same in the flavor. Over carbonation gets in the way a bit and keeps you from being able to get the full flavor, leaving it a bit thin and sourish until you can swirl out enough CO2 to let it come into it’s own.

(BJCP Class) This beer was missing some flavor in my opinion. This was listed as a robust porter but was just not there. I felt this was more of a brown porter style. Strong malt aroma nice head clear dark brown color semi coffee aroma. Somewhat Diacetyl flavor in the front of the taste. Slight fruitiness no hops flavor at all. Semi medium needed more body I felt. Needs more dark malt and a tad more hops to be a robust in my humble opinion

Deep, dark mahogany pour. Off-white head that starts out big but eventually settles to a thin rim. Spotty lacing. The aroma is of roasted barley, coffee, chocolate, biscuit, and faint smoke.. The flavor follows suit, with mocha up front, followed by roasted barley, oats, coffee bitterness, and some hops. The body is very smooth and creamy. There are no surprises here. This brew has all of the standard porter aromas and flavors. Nothing out of the ordinary, but very well crafted. Nice brew.
