Commercial Description:
St. Bridget, a legendary Irish saint, created a sensation by turning her bathwater into beer. What better way to celebrate her worthy miracle than with our zymurgistic tribute to her feat, St. Bridget's Porter. St. Bridget's is a smooth, elegant, and chocolaty brown porter. Brimming with coffee and chocolate characteristics from dark barley malts, St. Bridget's is carefully hopped to provide the perfect complement to its malty robustness.

Pours with a four-finger tan head that fades slowly leaving a clumpy lace. Black - totally opaque. Good carbonation, heavy bodied not thin as rated in Sep2003. I think it is fresher this time. Nose is a smokey roasted coffee. Starts with a roasted sweetness and finishes like a roasted coffee. $1.29 for a 12oz bottle from the Liquor Barn, Lexington, KY.

Small light tan head on top of a mahogany colored body, good clarity. Head retention is fair with a small amount of sagging lace. Nose is coffeeish with light cocoa notes to boot. Body is med/light, lightly oily. Coffee and chocolate flavors up front with a light roastiness, berry flavors and a hint of charcoal, maybe a bit of black patent astringency. Finish is almost dry with light roasty notes.

Another really incredible beer from the brewers at Great Divide. As I was drinking this, do they really make a bad beer? I’d sure love to keep drinking their stuff and find out.

This pours out a rich dark brown color, nearly black with some garnet edges and a thick tan head. Aroma is an explosion of chocolate, caramel, dark fruits with some light coffee and smoke. Flavor really brings the mocha notes, with strong choco-coffee goodness. Didn’t really hit me with detectable hops, but the lingering bitterness reminded me of eating dark chocolate (maybe that was the hops). This is definitely a repeat.

Bottle thanks to dchmela. Pours dark brown with a thin beige head. The aroma is nutty, smoke, and roasted malt. The taste is dominated by a roasted malt, with some bitter dark chocolates and a hint of dark fruit. A good porter.

Dark brown pour with a medium head. Roasty aroma with some coffee detectable. Taste is roasty with some coffee - very dry, to the point of being somewhat metallic. Could (and should) be alot better.

(Bottle at Rover, Göteborg) Pours darkred with red reflexes. The smell has notes of roasted malt. Wet asfalt with notes of facial tonic. Chocolate with some coffee. Taste: Light body with chocolatemalt. Soil. Waterish. slightly roasted. Minerals.

Dark brown with mahogany highlights. Aroma and flavor once again all coffe, with some roasted grain in the finish. A little thin. Long coffee aftertaste.
