The aroma is yeasty with a little roasted malts. It’s kind of thin in the mouth, but has a good smoky flavor with some soy sauce and a good sweet finish. This isn’t the greatest porter ever, but it’s so drinkable. Sparky27 (1608), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 18, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark clear dark brown with initial one finger tan head that fades into a thin soap screen which results in some nice lacing. Nose is mild with chocolate mainly coming through. Taste is cocoa and mild coffee with a bitter hoppy finish. Thin mouth feel. It’s a decent session porter, but there’s nothing robust about this robust porter. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 5, 2007 Bottle from Chatham Marketplace. Aroma of chocolate malt. Flavor is similar, more cocoa, a little coffee with a nice hop bitterness. An easy drinking porter that I would def pick up again. TheBeerOrg (1589), Kentucky, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 26, 2005 Mild roasted aroma. Near black with thin head. Ate with some cheesecake, I can’t complain. Bittersweet chocolate, toffee and coffee are all potential flavours. I’ve had better porters, but this is still very good. Could be a bit more hoppy. Finishes well, but leaves no lace. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 26, 2006 From a 12 oz. long neck brown bottle with a notched bottled date along the right side of label, Dec/week 3, served at cellar temperature.
Made a good appearance, poured a dark blackish brown with a large foamy tan head that settled into a thin skim-like foamy lacing, small amount of sticking, good carbonation.
Had a nose of caramelized and candied sugar with bare hints of chocolate and coffee.
A crisp, slick and smooth carbonated full bodied mouthfeel, above average drinkability.
Roasted malty, crisp and burnt bitter, chocolate, coffee and sugary fruity, and a dryish roasted malty finish.
An o.k. porter, drinkable, but not something I will be a regular buyer of.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 22, 2005 Roasted malts, coffee bitterness to this one, A bit over carbonated, suprised by that, overall good, but not great. I would drink this again. esjaygee (1581), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 5, 2008 Brown with a tan head that disappears much faster than the beer from the glass. Aroma is very metallic with notes of roasted malts and not much else. Thin and watery body is very creamy and has notes of mild roasted malts and mild chocolate that led to a metallic and chalky finish. This one lacked the substance and character one would expect out of a porter. hellbilly (1564), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 27, 2007 initial aroma of chocolate, sweet malt, and metal. strange metalllic flavor with more chocolate and malt. finishes with a bitter coffee flavor and some flowers. felt as if it were missing something. although it starts metallic and strange it does improve as it gets warmer.
