| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Jan 13, 2007 Pours midnight brown w/ medium semi creamy froth w/ beachball spattering. Aromas of charcoal roasted cocoa. Medium nectar w/ ample residual effers creates a velvety texture. Robust w/ a dusty charcoal bitterness that settles in the back of the mouth. Generously roasted malts w/ heavy charcoal, leather. Barely soured on the finish. Nice velvety texture throughout the whole sip into the finish leaving your palate parched. Lives up to it’s name for sure. It’s dry but the malts are wet. Highly recommended. holdenn (1444), Chicago, Illinois, USA
