| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 22, 2002 Handsomely dark, somewhat weak head. Coffee and maltiness evident in the aroma. Slight fruitiness. Reminds me of an Abita turbodog. Do regional breweries ever share recipes? A little weak on the mouthfeel. igneous1 (1374), Davenport, Iowa, USA

| 1.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Oct 9, 2007 Color is black but it lets a bit of light threw. There is almost no carbonation or head. Aroma has a sour malt smell to it. Taste is flat and coffee like. It starts with a medium body that goes down with a slightly harsh coffee taste. The finish is lacking of flavor with a bland roasted malt taste. It seems to get flavor or bitterness from hops, in fact it seems like it gets a light bitterness from poorly roasted malt. To me it doesn’t fit the description of a Porter and the only good thing I can say is it doesn’t taste like it was made with bath water. ilovedarkbeer (1369), Dallas, Texas, USA

Pours a nice dark chocolate color with a big bubbly foamy tan head. Tastes like burnt coffee and roasted malt. Pretty good but still has that yeasty aftertaste bite that I am not crazy about. Ths taste likt coffe soda. Not nearly as good as it looks. j12601 (1349), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA
