Sweet mild chocolate flavor. Hops seem to have faded away due to lack of freshness. Just checked date code. Best before June/July 2004. Nice. Well, extra points for having a date. Wish I had looked before I bought. Are the distributors supposed to get this stuff off the shelves? erway (1002), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 1, 2002 A porter for those who don’t like too much body. Lacking in a lot of the essentials. It’s transparent, smells is not very pungent and the taste is lacking in the burnt flavor that I like. Zeswaft (1000), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 6, 2006 Poured from a bottle. Deep brown almost black with an off-white big frothy head that slowly relaxes. Aroma is subtly roasted, smoked, and coffee. Flavor is a bit disappointing. Nothing really there until the finish and it’s a little roasted coffee. Maybe a little coconut in the aftertaste. A bit watery. A little bit of a let down after all the other great GD’s I’ve had. Passable. sersdf (1000), chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | May 24, 2006 bottle(s). not very good. Surprisingly chocolatey out of the bottle, really hoppy. Surprisingly lightbodied too. lots of pronounced flavors, but they just don’t blend together too well. pairs interestingly, but somewaht distastefully, with peanuts from the shell. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 20, 2004 Very dark for a porter, black. Head is loose and sparse with white colored bubbles. Smell is toffee, chocolate, roasted hops. Taste is good and hoppy with a creamy, milk-chocolate base. Smooth with bright hop flavors dancing atop with roastedness and nuttiness. good beer. kidmartinek (998), austin, Texas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 21, 2007 What a lot of foam for a porter. Dark brown almost black, not translucent. Nice sweet malt aroma. Nice chocolate flavor. Not too burnt which is nice. A decent dark. blank (998), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 3, 2004 damn tasty, nice thick hearty porter. A good malt character. More like a stout lite. Another good offering from Great Divide. MadIndian (997), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA
