Commercial Description:
St. Bridget, a legendary Irish saint, created a sensation by turning her bathwater into beer. What better way to celebrate her worthy miracle than with our zymurgistic tribute to her feat, St. Bridget's Porter. St. Bridget's is a smooth, elegant, and chocolaty brown porter. Brimming with coffee and chocolate characteristics from dark barley malts, St. Bridget's is carefully hopped to provide the perfect complement to its malty robustness.

This beer was very average. I was expecting more adter seeing this rating of 80. It’s almost like ’porter lite’. Everything from the color to the light mouthfeel to the simple finish. A good porter should be darker, have a strong roasted malt flavor, and a complex palate. This beers lacks any true character. Worth only a sip.

Bottle. 12 oz. Split with James. Pours deep, onyx black, settling out to a very dark chicory brown. Aroma of coffee, brown sugar, barley, roasted malts, and hints of nutmeg. Medium bodied for a porter. Rich, sweet finish. Decent.

Always looking to try a porter. This stuff is black and roasty, kinda like cold coffee. Have not found a porter better than Stone yet.

Pours a dark brown with a small quickly disapating head. The aroma is roasted malt and chocolate. The flavor is bold with malt, coffee, and chocolate. Slight bitterness with (sugar?)plums and burnt sugar in the aftertaste. Quite a nice porter.

Bottle. Pours near-black with a medium-brown head. Aroma of rich, bold coffee and dark chocolate. Flavor is a very well-balanced mix of coffee and cocoa. Most porters have these characteristics, but very few strike the balance perfectly as this one does. Creamy mouthfeel and overall excellent beer.

BOTTLE: dark brown pour, off white head. Big chocolate and coffee nose. Taste is malty, carbonated (maybe a little too much), coffee/roasty, a little hop kick. Good stuff.

A: Nice black color with tan head, yep it looks like a porter. S: Has an aroma of chocolate and if you really concentrate you can get hints of coffee, yep smells like a porter. T: Upfront you are hit with chocolate and malt, it finishes with a hint of coffee, yep its a porter. M: It is medium bodied and goes down smooth, what you would expect from a porter.
