Pours a lovely dark brown with a small taupe head. Nice aroma af the roasted malts, well balanced, although a little dry on the end. I would call it medium bodied compared to Boulevard's Bully porter, as it just didn't seem as thick as the front end of the tasting would lead one to believe. Overall, a very solid porter that I liked very well, especially with a beef filet in a blue cheese sauce. Jeppe (2638), Ølbutikken, Denmark

Sweet and creamy aroma with roasted malt and choholate tones. Flavor is also sweet and quite full, dominated by milk chocolate and malt. Fruity notes also. Very soft and smooth. Sweet malty aroma, toasted malt, heavy chocolate aroma, complex salty licorice aroma with strong earthy notes, toast and caramel. Flavour is well balanced with sweet caramel up front leading into a nice bittersweet chocolate in the middle before a toasty finish rounds it up. A nice authentic porter. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 2, 2004 Pours deep brown/mahogany with a medium, off-white head. Aroma of malt, fruit, nuts, cabernet, chocolate, and soy sauce. Tastes malty, with some chocolate, cabernet, nuts, and coffee at the finish. This one has a slightly tart/krieky finish that reminded me ever so slightly of Bell’s cherry stout. Good complexity, balance, and mouthfeel for this one. BeerAteHer (384), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 13, 2005 Nice healthy dark color with beige head. Both chief elements are present but flavor is balanced more towards the porter-peat’n’hops in comparison to the stout-cocoa’n’malt (illustrating one of the chief differences between two similar styles), and this beer is remarkably hoppy-dry for 6% abv. Finish is slightly harsh and burnt but there are worse out there for sure. nchoward (24), Iowa, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 16, 2005 This is a great beer if you can find it about $1 a bottle. It pours dark with a tan head and lets out a great roasted, chocolate malt aroma. This beer is the heavier clone to Sam’s Cream Stout ... I swear they taste so much alike. The taste is chocolate, coffee, roasted barley malt. The finish is pretty clean and dry. Great balance with the hops. A little expensive if you are selling it at ~9 for a 6-pack. morrdt (609), Jacksonville, Florida, USA

Taste is chocolately, light coffee and some bitterness. Nice robust finish. This is a very good porter, worth buying a 6 pack. mynameisjonas (206), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA
