Commercial Description:
St. Bridget, a legendary Irish saint, created a sensation by turning her bathwater into beer. What better way to celebrate her worthy miracle than with our zymurgistic tribute to her feat, St. Bridget's Porter. St. Bridget's is a smooth, elegant, and chocolaty brown porter. Brimming with coffee and chocolate characteristics from dark barley malts, St. Bridget's is carefully hopped to provide the perfect complement to its malty robustness.

Black with brown edges, thin, foamy tan head. Big Charcoal, coffee aroma. Easily quaffable, with big flavors of mocha and coffee and a slight hop bite. Would be a nice everyday porter.

Wow, I’m really surprised by how many people panned this beer. I thought it was wonderful, especially in the American style of porter. Dark brown with ruby in the light, a bit of lacing by my pour but nothing that sticks around for long. Generous coffee, roasted, vinous/grape aroma that has suggestions of a mild Imperial Stout, and the flavor contains a fair dose of hops (here’s where I say the "American style"), but it produces a nice long finish with the touch of bittering hops that leaves one thinking this is the product of bitter chocolate and burnt pieces of toast thrown into the brew. Very dry; definitely thin, even to a porter, it just glides on down my throat with a very thin, oily quality. Still, for aroma and flavor this is very drinkable and enjoyable. This might become a beer that I pick up once in a while; I think it would be a great beer to try in a pot of chili.

Dark brown/mahogany. Creamy,medium sized,head. Clean aroma is malty,toffee,chocolate,coffee. Very smooth,medium body,creamy. Grainy start,sweet toffee,roasty,chocolate flavors. Finish is much hoppier than I was expecting,and lingering with malt. Excellent flavor here,mild aroma,great palate.Good porter,thanks Aubrey!

Bottle. Pours with a big bubbled tan head. Aroma is cherry and chocolate with a mellow hoppiness. Taste has a mellow sweetness to it with some sweet fruits. Some grape to go along with the chocolate thats trying to be bitter. Not smoky enough and not enough chocolate for me but the mouthfeel is right on as is the body and appearance.

The aroma is light of coffee. The apperance is a dark brownish color, but not quite as dark as expected. The flavor is fine, with hints of coffee and the like. The beer is a bit heavy, but not to hard to drink. Overall not bad at all.

Thanks to whoever brought this to the 3rd Richmond Gathering, Numenor or Maniac? One of those beers that I’m not quite sure why I’d never tried it. Deep brown, slight head. Coffee and roast malt aroma. Flavor matched, good balance all around. Nice, if not spectacular.

12 oz, snifter. Chocolate, coffee, toasted, burnt malt (M); flowery hops (L); smoke aroma. Average, creamy, off-white head sits on a deep brown-tawny body. Moderately sweet flavor becomes a lightly sweet, lightly bitter finish. Medium-full body, oily/creamy texture, average carbonation. The bottom line is: wonderful flavors abound! The nose could be bigger and the carbonation softer, but this is a truly enjoyable porter.

Pours a dark brown beer with a tall and foamy tan head. Sweet and creamy aroma with roasted malt and choholate tones. Flavor is also sweet and quite full, dominated by milk chocolate and malt. Fruity notes also. Very soft and smooth.
