Medium sized, off white head with no significant lacing. Aroma was roasted malt, coffee, bittersweet chocolate, cola and a fruit I cannot quite distinguish. Smooth, decently carbonated, medium-bodied flavor. Finishes dry with a hoppy, bitter quality on the back of the tongue. LiebeBier (793), Annapolis, Maryland, USA

Purchased at some grocery store in Brookfield, WI sometime in 2004. Aroma: mint, yeast, bread, malty; smells fresh and lively, a nice start. Opaque brown with a beige head that fully dissipates. Tastes like Flag Porter with a bit of orange rind; finish is longer though, with hops that intensify at the end in bitterness. Yet another quality beer from Great Divide. jimhilt (1687), Bow, New Hampshire, USA

Black - totally opaque. Good carbonation, heavy bodied not thin as rated in Sep2003. I think it is fresher this time. Nose is a smokey roasted coffee. Starts with a roasted sweetness and finishes like a roasted coffee. $1.29 for a 12oz bottle from the Liquor Barn, Lexington, KY.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 28, 2007 This beer pours black with red-amber highlights. Nice lacing that lingers before slowly dissipating. Chocolate and coffee smells are clearly evident, as are hints of roasted malt and floral hops. Feels thick in the mouth. Thin-to-slightly creamy and dry feeling. Tastes of dark chocolate, burnt rye, and mocha. Very rich and yet not too dry but reating the dryness that makes stouts and porters what they are. The beer finishes with a slight hoppy bitterness, fizzy carbonation, and a warm alcohol feel. Very nice example of the porter style.
