I like this porter very much and could drink it regularly. Not quite as great as Crooked River’s wonderful Robust Porter out of Cleveland but damn close, very close. This is truly Delicious. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA

This is on the lighter side of porters, I’d say. It begs the question: Who is this St. Brigid and why is this tasty brew named after her? Is she the patron saint of porters? In fairness, this is a touch bitter. sethdude (604), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Aroma is not too unique for the style, pours a black, slightly translucent color, no noticeable floaties. Flavor of strong coffee, chocolate. A bit dry in the finish. A bit of burnt toast mingles with the sweet middle and hoppy finish. A very good representation of the style. fuyajo (225), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 14, 2004 Pours very dark with a small, thin head. It smelled sweet and slightly "roasty." The taste was similar to the smell; sweet and roasted. Great finish - nice and full. This beer has everything I look for in a beer. The only thing that could make this better would be a bit stronger finish. Great beer! Probably a top five! dimenhetfield (207), , Florida, USA

The aroma is somewhat "small" but you can definitly detect the chocolate and the dark barley in there. Hits the tounge with a coffee explosion. Very smooth. lstorie3 (17), Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Oct 28, 2003 initially aroma is of chocolate covered cherries, but dies down quite quickly and reminds one of Cheerios. It is a very dark beer allowing only a modest amount of light to penetrate. Heads is somewhat thin and off white. Appropriate for the style. in the mouth it is somewhat thin but very tastey. It tastes of piupe smoke and slightly sour fruits. very tasty and balanced. Overall, this is my favorite porter. I like this a great deal and look forward to drinking much more of it. Residual sweetness lingers on the roof of the mouth. Has that nice, zingy bite of hops that I yearn for in a porter. Quite enjoyable. pauliefrog99 (302), FLINT, Michigan, USA
