Commercial Description:
St. Bridget, a legendary Irish saint, created a sensation by turning her bathwater into beer. What better way to celebrate her worthy miracle than with our zymurgistic tribute to her feat, St. Bridget's Porter. St. Bridget's is a smooth, elegant, and chocolaty brown porter. Brimming with coffee and chocolate characteristics from dark barley malts, St. Bridget's is carefully hopped to provide the perfect complement to its malty robustness.

Nice dark brown though opaque in color with a sticky fully retained tan head. Aroma is of sweet roasted malt, alcohol, and a little dark chocolate. Flavor is more toward the smoked side and the palate is a bit thin, though that may be consistent for the style. Will be happy to sample more.

Pours a dark brown/ebony color with faint ruby-red highlights. Forms a nice thick and enduring tan head with superb retention throughout the entire glass. No lacing noted. Aromas of dark roasted malts, coffee, Baker’s chocolate, raisins, figs and an earthy hop presnce are noted. Nose was pleasant overall, just a bit too tame. Mouthfeel was somewhat disappointing being slightly thin and watery along with too much fizz for the style. A smoother, creamier texture would have been more enjoyable. Flavor profile much more assertive as compared to the nose with notes of burnt malts, dark caramel, raisins, coffee, bittersweet chocolate and some faint black licorice. Finishes slightly sweet with a touch of hop bitterness. Not a bad Porter, but there are many more out there that are better.

Appearance: black porter with large, handsome coffee tanned top. Good lace shown. 4+
Nose: Aromatic euro hop aroma, light , refreshing not something you would expect from porter. Slight roasty base hid behind. 7+
Flavor/Palate : Medium light bodied. Very smooth soft texture. Slight roastiness carried around (of good quality), sweet overall with slight bitterness on edge. Very drinkable, refreshing, fun to have. Perfect brew for thirsty session lovers.

this was a nice dark brown brew. It was just your basic porter with maybe a bit more chocolate. Very smooth, i dug it.

Handsomely dark, somewhat weak head. Coffee and maltiness evident in the aroma. Slight fruitiness. Reminds me of an Abita turbodog. Do regional breweries ever share recipes? A little weak on the mouthfeel.

Pretty strong coffee smell, and a definate coffee taste. Didn’t really notice the chocolate flavors they say are there though.

on the table it’s deep oreo-brown, but just lift it to the light to transform it to the rich dark red often used in persian rugs. a nice disc of foam on top (right where it should be) resembles an oatmeal cookie: thin, firm, and creamy tan. butter pecan and devils food cake aromas, plus something earthier approximating the inside of some old guy’s leather shoe. deficit of any roasty qualities in the aroma, but finally in the taste they come forward. gentle palate hand delivers a nutty cocoa sweetness and slight coffee bitterness. it could pass for a scotish ale with it’s sweet malts and underachieving hops. not huge, but pretty dang tasty, especially as it warms.
