Commercial Description:
St. Bridget, a legendary Irish saint, created a sensation by turning her bathwater into beer. What better way to celebrate her worthy miracle than with our zymurgistic tribute to her feat, St. Bridget's Porter. St. Bridget's is a smooth, elegant, and chocolaty brown porter. Brimming with coffee and chocolate characteristics from dark barley malts, St. Bridget's is carefully hopped to provide the perfect complement to its malty robustness.

Pours a very dark chestnut brown color with dark ruby edges and a tan foamy head that settles into a nice lacing. Very roasty malt aroma with hints of chocolate, coffee and nut. Very smooth roasted malt flavor with coffee, chocolate, oatmeal, toffee, smoke and hops. Slightly hoppy up front giving way to creamy malt center and a dry, bitter and slightly smokey finish

Dark brown pour into thick tan frothy and lingering creamy head which dissipates into heavy lacings on the glass. Balanced aroma of sweet chocolate and roasted coffee malts. Initial flavor of sweet malty and dark malty chocolate barley hoppiness which quickly fades to lingering smoked malty finish.

Bottle. Pours near-black with a medium-brown head. Aroma of rich, bold coffee and dark chocolate. Flavor is a very well-balanced mix of coffee and cocoa. Most porters have these characteristics, but very few strike the balance perfectly as this one does. Creamy mouthfeel and overall excellent beer.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle. Appearance: Deep brown with red highlights. Sizeable, creamy, light tan head. Good head retention and great lacing left behind. Aroma: Roasty nose with notes of earth, chocolate, plum, and coffee. Yum! Flavor: Light chocolate notes, earth, mineral, bitter roasted notes, a bit of coffee, and a good dose of malt sweetness. This is a great porter! Palate: Soft, Medium-low, carbonation with an oily, medium-rich mouthfeel. Long, roasty finish. Overall: A must try for porter fans. A great brew that is sure to please.

Bottle. Nose is sweet and slightly acidic chocolate and coffee. There’s something mildly fruity in there as well, sort of a cherry or raspberry aroma. Great looking brown head that laces nicely atop a nearly black bear with a light ruby tint. Good body, extremely smooth and robust. It carries across a well-rounded flavor profile touching on a chocolate acidity, some coffee roast and bitterness, and just a touch of citrus hops. Very well done.

Excellent American style porter from Great Divide. Flavors were rich and chocolately but no overbearing. Smooth and not overpowering due to the 6% abv. Poured dark with a nice frothy head.
