Commercial Description:
St. Bridget, a legendary Irish saint, created a sensation by turning her bathwater into beer. What better way to celebrate her worthy miracle than with our zymurgistic tribute to her feat, St. Bridget's Porter. St. Bridget's is a smooth, elegant, and chocolaty brown porter. Brimming with coffee and chocolate characteristics from dark barley malts, St. Bridget's is carefully hopped to provide the perfect complement to its malty robustness.

This poured out a standard black color with a glass filling head of brown foam. Decent retention and sheet of lace decorated the glass fir a while as well. The aroma doesn’t seem too complex with a strong dark chocolate scent that is back by a lesser-roasted smell. Great smelling if you love dark chocolate as I do but there is not too much to figure out with the nose. Taste is very similar to the smell with a strong bittersweet dark chocolate presence and a roasted malt flavor that was almost as strong. Mouthfeel was about you standard medium with a creamy feel to it. I think the drinkability is great on this but with the simplicity of the taste and smell it might get old to some. Very much like a liquid dark chocolate treat here. Not bad overall but a decent example of the style.

This poured a deep, dark brown with a one-fingered light brown head. The coffee comes across first in the aroma, followed rapidly by the chocolate and later by roasted barley. This is very creamy in the mouth, soothing to the tongue and throat. Tastes of burnt chocolate and roasted malts with a hint of malt sweetness. The finish is a combo of coffee and light hopping. Quite tasty. This is definitely a brewery to keep an eye on.

Pretty decent porter. Roasty muted coffee like flavor with a kick of hops. Quite malty, but not overdone. Nice.

Bottle. Dark almost black, but with reddish hues. Aroma of milk chocolate and roasted malt. Flavor of chocolate and coffee. Dry roasted finish. Good.

Mild roasted aroma. Near black with thin head. Ate with some cheesecake, I can’t complain. Bittersweet chocolate, toffee and coffee are all potential flavours. I’ve had better porters, but this is still very good. Could be a bit more hoppy. Finishes well, but leaves no lace.

It’s early for porters. But I saw this in the store and was excited that Great Divide has made its way to COMO. Since I have yet to try the porter, I bought it. Rich. Dark. not as intense as my favorite stouts, but I guess that the point with porters. Reviews here are a bit harsh. It’s the best one out there, but hardly a bad porter.

12 oz bottle. Dark brown with slight ring of bubbles around the rim. Aroma is sweet with a chocolate nuttiness. Flavor is even sweeter with roasty malts finally plowing through in the end. This is a very nice porter.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a tan head that is little more than a thin layer of bubbles after a few seconds. Sweet roasted malt and a kind of funky cocoa/milk chocolate greet the nose, and flavors are consistent with this: a mix of cocoa, a little bit of peat, leather and vanilla. Mouthfeel is thin and silky, while finish is an odd mix of dry, earthy and sweet chocolate.
