blackmurder (164), sadf, Hawaii, USA May 10, 2008 A strange porter with a mysterious past. Decent enough to pick up at a store once in a while....like once a year.
harrisoni (5382), Ashford, Kent, England Oct 11, 2008 Bottle at Orsted Olbarog. Deep brown, thin beige head. Choc aroma. Plainish choc porter. It’s ok, not that exciting. Just a normal choccy porter. bretupdegraff (101), Fishers, Indiana, USA Oct 10, 2008 Not a bad beer - I liked the chocolate and coffee flavor - nice aftertaste. All around good beer - better than many of the portors that I have tried. Simple but tasty. malrubius (461), USA Oct 7, 2008 12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Dark brown with ring head and lace. Sweet chocolate aroma. Sweet mild chocolate flavor. Hops seem to have faded away due to lack of freshness. Just checked date code. Best before June/July 2004. Nice. Well, extra points for having a date. Wish I had looked before I bought. Are the distributors supposed to get this stuff off the shelves? probstk (695), Nepean, Ontario, Canada Oct 7, 2008 12 fl. oz. bottle from BOTW (Rochester), served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. AU29/08.
App.: Very deep brown-black with ruby highlights and a nice light tan head.
Aroma: Black coffee, dark chocolate, slightly grapey and fruity, slightly ashen.
Palate: Medium body and very soft carbonation.
Flav.: Some black coffee and dark chocolate, slightly fruity, some ashen burnt sugar, dry with moderate bitterness and a fairly long burnt sugar/dark chocolate aftertaste.
A bit simple, but tasty. gringo332 (100), Richardson, Texas, USA Oct 2, 2008 Everything about this porter was just kind of normal. It had a good dark color with brown head and a simple chocolate flavor to it.
