Very malty for the style, with medium level american hops. Rather piney? A bit cloying by the end of the pint. Hope it was just a slightly poor barrel, because I have a lot of time for Great Divide. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 22, 2009 A nose of toffee, american hops and a pie/cookie- ish note which I will describe as: (and I’m very proud of this) jordgubbsrulltårta! Taste is very bitter and contains toffee, butter and metallic hops. A good brew, but it’s probably way better fresh. JoeMcPhee (5030), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 21, 2009 Clear amber pour with a thick, sticky white head. The aroma is great. There is a soft spicy/earthy nose with a touch of light grapefruity hoppiness. Soft lightly caramelly malt sweetness on the back. A kiss of cookie dough sweetness. The flavour is quite soft and sweet. A touch of light maltiness on the back. The bitterness is soft but nice. The beer is nice although the hops could be bumped up significantly. I’d like to try it again fresher. dalek123 (103), Houston, Texas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 19, 2009 Pours amber, somewhat cloudy with a small, white, fast diminishing head. Nose is grapefruit. Taste is spicy and citris up front, with a good level of hop bitterness in the finish. This is well balanced and very smooth. A great IPA. deyholla (736), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
