Commercial Description:
Great Divide brews Titan IPA for hop disciples -- independent beer drinkers seeking out robust, flavorful beers characterized by their abundance of hops, flavor, aroma and bitterness. As a big aggressively-hopped India Pale Ale, Titan IPA fills this bill -- beginning with piney hop aromas and citrus hop flavors, and finishing with a rich, malty sweetness that is carefully balanced with crisp hop bitterness. 65 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

This was my first Titan, many people having commented that it has changed. Very malty for the style, with medium level american hops. Rather piney? A bit cloying by the end of the pint. Hope it was just a slightly poor barrel, because I have a lot of time for Great Divide.

Dark amber color with a big off-white head. Spicy and big hops aroma. Nice smooth flavor of hops, spice and a little floral. Very nice stuff.

A nose of toffee, american hops and a pie/cookie- ish note which I will describe as: (and I’m very proud of this) jordgubbsrulltårta! Taste is very bitter and contains toffee, butter and metallic hops. A good brew, but it’s probably way better fresh.

Clear amber pour with a thick, sticky white head. The aroma is great. There is a soft spicy/earthy nose with a touch of light grapefruity hoppiness. Soft lightly caramelly malt sweetness on the back. A kiss of cookie dough sweetness. The flavour is quite soft and sweet. A touch of light maltiness on the back. The bitterness is soft but nice. The beer is nice although the hops could be bumped up significantly. I’d like to try it again fresher.

Pours amber, somewhat cloudy with a small, white, fast diminishing head. Nose is grapefruit. Taste is spicy and citris up front, with a good level of hop bitterness in the finish. This is well balanced and very smooth. A great IPA.

Bottle. Poured an amber with orange and red tints. White head and laced well. Aroma was of fruity hops, notes of citrus, specifically grapefruit and orange. Perhaps even a bit of pine present. Flavor is bitter through out with citrus notes. A nice strong bitter finish.

12oz bottle from grape & gourmet. pours a clear, bright, golden orange with a fluffy, white head and great lacing. aroma is wonderful with fresh, fruity hop notes of grapefruit, apricot, peach, and berry with hints of pine and sweet toffee. flavor is great as well with juicy, bitter, citrus hops dominated by orange peel and grapefruit, pine, spice, and subtle hints of sweet vanilla and toasty malts. palate is smooth, medium bodied, and a bit chewy with a bitter, citrus hop finish. overall, an excellent example of a balanced IPA.

Bottle@Olympen, Oslo. Foggy, orangey-brown color. Tanned, creamy two-finger head. Aroma is toffee/caramel and lots of fruity hops; peaches, apricot, sweet citrus and evergreen. Bold hoppy flavor; resin and pine, and faint citrus. Subdued caramellish malt falvor. Medium body. Long hoppy finish. Nice.
