Commercial Description:
Great Divide brews Titan IPA for hop disciples -- independent beer drinkers seeking out robust, flavorful beers characterized by their abundance of hops, flavor, aroma and bitterness. As a big aggressively-hopped India Pale Ale, Titan IPA fills this bill -- beginning with piney hop aromas and citrus hop flavors, and finishing with a rich, malty sweetness that is carefully balanced with crisp hop bitterness. 65 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Poured a clear golden yellow with a tall creamy foamy head. There were some carbonation bubbles rising thru the glass and some sediment pieces suspended in the beer. There was a very nice hoppy citrus aroma of grapefruit and some floral scents as well. The flavor was quite the opposite of the usual IPA. The initial taste was a fairly strong hop bitterness with a citrus flavor of grapefruit. The bitterness tended to mellow on the palate to a smooth slightly sweet finish. Most IPAs I’ve had seem to finish into a more stronger bitter finish that lasts. This was nice in that the flavor was different on the palate as to finish.

Wow, really different than I remember. Really hoppy, but a whole lot of a very different malt character than I can ever recall tasting. It’s almost like a gingerbread flavor. Cinnamon and a soapy malt, reminiscent of Oskar Blues. Not any real citrus, but heavy pine and floral hop flavors. Very light presence of bitterness; it’s there but well balanced with the malt. A unique IPA

First beer I have had from Great Divide, and it makes me want to try them all. Piney, citrus, and just a bit sweeter than most. Crisp finish and nicely but subtly bitter.

I had this beer for the first time during a bluegrass festival in Florida. Straight form the bottle...nice citrius aroma. Went down with bitter, floral taste and finished smooth. This is one yummy beer, with hops abundant, but not overpowering.

Bottle. Pours a hazy sediment filled golden brown with a small white head that disappears quickly, leaving a thin blanket over the beer as you drink. Aroma is filled with citrus, hops, and flowers. Taste is heavy on the bitter end with just a hint of toasted malt mixed in for good measure. Mouthfeel is crisp but a bit sticky... its just the right feel for a beer with such a flavorful taste. An excellent IPA that I will be enjoying more of.

Bottle. Copper with small off white head. Lots of floaties. Makes me wonder how old this bottle is. It says 2nd week of October on the side, but I wonder which October it is. The aroma seems slightly dull for an IPA. The taste is not bad at all. It seems to have lost some of its fresh hop character because I’m really picking up some nice caramel malt characteristics and a little bit of aclcool burn. I say this beer has gotta be from ’06....at least. I haven’t seen this many floaties since I drank a 4 year old Aventius Eisbock. I finished the glass.... Definitely gonna have to re-rate with a fresh bottle.

Bottle from The Ale Cellar, Darlington. Whoa ! This is top notch. Deep Amber, with a nicely lingering white head. Floral peachy pine aroma. Grapefruit marries perfectly with the maltiness in the flavour and leaves a wonderfully balanced hoppy bitter finish. Superb.

Pours cloudy copper, thick yellowish head, hops/citrus aroma, rich hops taste w/ crisp bitterness, sweet malt to balance hops, excellent IPA
