Ungstrup (11031), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 13, 2004 A hazy orange beer with a small disappearing beige head. The aroma is nicely hoppy with notes of oil. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and a sticky dry end. omhper (10393), Stockholm, Sweden Oct 6, 2005 Bottled. Cloudy amber, rich head. Grapefruity hop aroma. Dry and very hoppy. Straightforward and one dimensional, nothing but hop aroma, hop flavour and hop bitterness. The malt just acts like a foundation that is there, but shouldn’t be noticed. After many thousands of different beers simple ones like this should be slagged of by me, but I succumb and offer my soul to the god of hops. No matter how I try I can’t stop myself from loving it. Papsoe (9980), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 29, 2005 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Beautiful, dark amber. Filtered and clear with a small, fine and very creamy head. Fruity, hoppy nose. Fat, almost sticky, body with loads of malt. but being an IPA this of course is a hop-show with the hops completely taking over the scene. A crossfire of hops - both the aromatic and the bitter ones. But it ends intensely bitter - albeit not exactly suffocating as the same brewery’s "Old Ruffian". 290505 Oakes (6819), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jun 17, 2005 Orangey-amber colour. The orangey, piney aroma is very fresh. Fairly bitter body, but with substantial malt base - tastes like some light crystal and maybe Vienna. The sweetness gets a little caramelly towards the finish, but that’s when I want the beer to start drying out. joergen (6240), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 5, 2005 Bottled.
