Commercial Description:
Great Divide's mantra is that real fruit makes real beer, so Great Divide ferments Wild Raspberry Ale with hundreds of pounds of real red and black raspberries. Wild Raspberry Ale is a truly effervescent, ruby red ale that achieves the almost impossible balance between malted barley and tart raspberry fruitiness. Its naturally tart character makes Wild Raspberry the ultimate accompaniment to spicy Mexican food or on its own as a stand-alone session beer.

I can almost always tell if I am going to like a fruit beer by the pour - the more ’non-beer’ color, the less chance I will like it because it will be too fruity. this one pours a coppery red with red tinged head and smells of raspberries. The taste is a subtle berry mixed with malt and lots of carbonation. In fact, I think that the berry blend is about perfect but the carbonation really ruins it. Maybe I got a bad batch.

Pours ruby red, with a very thick white head that quickly foams to the top. Releases a very enjoyable smell of raspberries. The aroma is a little opposite to it, while the raspeberry is present, it is overtaken by a malty/chocolate aroma. It is however a well-balanced beer, very enjoyable. Could had been a great fruity beer as without all this malt.

For the style this is a really drinkable beer. Raspberries abound in the aroma and on the tongue. Beer isn’t too thin and flavor is fairly well balanced. Not a beer for "snobs" but easy to drink with my tacos tonight!

Pours a heavy orangeish colour with a thin white head. Carries along with a nice soft raspberry flavor. Mouthfeel is moderately carbonated with a somewhat sour raspberry taste. Maybe some grapefruit in there as well. A decent brew.

Interesting brew. Aroma smells slightly of raspberry. Pours reddish. Has a very nice tinge of raspberry in the taste. However, it’s too watery. I agree with the sentiment that it feels like Kool-Aid. It doesn’t really have any substance, tasting like beer/raspberry flavored water. It was good to try, but I won’t pick it up again.

Actually everything but the final impression is very nice. I like raspberry in my beer but the body is so thin that i’m left with a watered down feeling in my mouth.

Pours a clear reddish with a thick white head. Aroma is weak, with just a hint of raspberry. Flavor is only slightly stronger, with raspberry and not much else. Thin and watery. For a Great Divide product, it was disappointing.

Bottle. Thanks Ivan. Pours pink/red with a off white creamy head. aroma is mostly sweet rasperry. quite thin - yet refreshing. Rather boring fruit beer! Too much Kool aid feel!
