Commercial Description:
Great Divide's mantra is that real fruit makes real beer, so Great Divide ferments Wild Raspberry Ale with hundreds of pounds of real red and black raspberries. Wild Raspberry Ale is a truly effervescent, ruby red ale that achieves the almost impossible balance between malted barley and tart raspberry fruitiness. Its naturally tart character makes Wild Raspberry the ultimate accompaniment to spicy Mexican food or on its own as a stand-alone session beer.

Dark red amber with a small white head. Sweet aroma of pure raspberry juice. Sweet raspberry flavour with a licorice note and a hint of tartness.

I was kind of disappointed in this one. Great Divide is usually pretty good. It pours a beautiful reddish purple color and the aroma has a lot of raspberry/ fruity promise to it, but the taste does not deliver. The aroma and finish delver more fruit than the actual beer. The beer leaves the mouth with fruit flavor, but the beer tastes more of malt than of fruit. I will avoid this in the future.

This beer was a pretty big disappointment for me because 1) I love raspberries 2) I like Great Divide. Pours a clear red with a thin off white head. A little bit of a sweet aroma, not too much there though. The flavor was watery and just kind of a bad general sweet flavor. I’ve actually made a much better raspberry beer myself and I don’t have that much experience brewing yet.

Nice ruby red color. tiny white head. Smell: raspberry, sweetness, malt, tiny hops. Wow! That is a lot of raspberry! Didn’t expect so much. An occasional 12 0z would be o.k., but don’t buy a six-pack. A decent brew..a little watery, hops tickles the tongue, but I never felt I was drinking beer.

12oz. Bottle: Sweet aroma. Smells of raspberry, medicine, and robitussin. Poured ruby in color with a medium-sized magenta/white head that diminished immediately. Clear. Lightly sparkling. Sweet flavor. Tastes of raspberries and Rice Crispies. Light to medium body. Thin, watery texture. Average carbonation. Sweet raspberry finish. Too sweet to drink.

Pours a cloudy dark redish-brown color with slightly pink head. Sweet, woody/earthy aromas on the nose, with hints of fruit coctail syrup, freshly picked rasberries, and raisin bread. Medium bodied with desent mouthfeel. Surprisingly refreshing taste with suggestions of muffins with rasberry jam, marachino cherries, and grenadine. Smooth, refreshing malt finish with lingering notes of tart black cherries and rasberries. Try with sweet and sour chinese dish, cherries jubilee, or a salad with peacans and rasberry vinagrette dressing.
