Commercial Description:
Great Divide's mantra is that real fruit makes real beer, so Great Divide ferments Wild Raspberry Ale with hundreds of pounds of real red and black raspberries. Wild Raspberry Ale is a truly effervescent, ruby red ale that achieves the almost impossible balance between malted barley and tart raspberry fruitiness. Its naturally tart character makes Wild Raspberry the ultimate accompaniment to spicy Mexican food or on its own as a stand-alone session beer.

12oz bottle. This beer pours a deep ruby red to copper color with a fairly sizable head from the start but it did subside quickly. The head had a slight lavender tint to it with a minor level of lacing. The aroma was unsurprisingly dominated by raspberries, malts and hints of syrupyness. The flavor is medium bodied and reminds me a lot of raspberry syrup at the international house of pancakes. Fairly bland watered down flavor...little malt presence but a sticky honeyness to the raspberry. Fairly active carbonation leads into a mess which flattens out as soon as its in the mouth past 1/2 a second.

Draught at the Tap Room. Beer is medium, clear, cranberry-brown. Head is small, white, frothy. Mostly and quickly, not quite totally diminishing.
The aroma is malty with moderate notes of husky toasted grain, moderate buttered popcorn; Miscellaneous light note of lean raspberry.
The flavor is lightly sweet, light-to-moderately acidic with an average-length, moderately acidic, trace bitter finish. Husky retros.
The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is fizzy.

Draught at the brewery in Denver. Red with white head. Smells and tastes like raspberry juice. Simple beer.

12 oz. pours with perfect head, but quickly dissipates and leaves a pale red transparent body. Aroma is anything but subtle, tons of raspberry - Yum! Flavor is decidedly mild by comparison but with a good raspberry kick, some tartness and understated sweetness. Palate neither adds nor detracts. Overall, pretty average aside from aroma, but would buy again.

Huge raspberry jam nose. Copper-red with deep brown notes. Sweet malt and chewy raspberries, with just a touch of hops. Good carbonation and mouth feel. Fruit Beers are not my favorite, but this one is subtle and nice. Would be particularly good paired with the right dish.

The aroma was surprisingly aromatic. The smell of rasberries was definitely present, but it lacked variety. There is a nice white head, and a rasberry red color, but I don’t think this beer would appeal to any real drinkers. You get a very fruity rasberry taste with this beer, but beyond that, meaning the malts and the hops, aren’t there. I could see people who don’t like the "bitter beer" drinking this. Anyone who appreciates a nice malty or hoppy beer, need not drink. Also, there is nothing to speak of as far as palate is concerned.

Poured dark amber with some red tones. Aroma of raspberries both tart and sweet with some darker caramel malts as well. The flavor is both sweet and sour raspberries with some sweetness/caramel from the malts. The flavor is more natural than artificial, but something seemed to be missing. Not bad in any way though.
