Commercial Description:
Great Divide's mantra is that real fruit makes real beer, so Great Divide ferments Wild Raspberry Ale with hundreds of pounds of real red and black raspberries. Wild Raspberry Ale is a truly effervescent, ruby red ale that achieves the almost impossible balance between malted barley and tart raspberry fruitiness. Its naturally tart character makes Wild Raspberry the ultimate accompaniment to spicy Mexican food or on its own as a stand-alone session beer.

Great color. I was pumped. It was bitter at the end. Some people say sweet, some say sour, some say tart. but hardly anyone says bitter. Well there you have it. enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours a nice red color with a light pink head, that lasts nicely. A touch of hops and a refreshing dry finish. Not too tart or sweet. Reminds me of a naturally flavored Iced tea. Finish is a bit watery, a nice lawn mower brew.

Bottle from the Roseville cellars. Massively carbonated red beer took ten minutes to pour as almost everything in the bottle foamed in the glass - way to much carbonation. Chemical raspberry nose and taste with a watery finish.

Pours a slightly cloudy ambrosia, with a small off white head. Smells mildy fruity, definitely get some raspberry and cranberry in there. The taste isnt really sweet, almost like the skins of fruits. Kind of like a fruity bitter, not acidic or sweet in any way. Not really my cup of tea. Big raspberry in the finish and the aftertaste as well. Not my favorite brew from these guys. I wasnt really expecting awesomeness, but did come out disappointed here.

From a 12-oz bottle shared by joebrew at Cellars, pours a dirty red amber with a fast dissolving off white head that reveals a thin ring. Aroma of powdered raspberry jello mix with a touch of light barley malt. Not much hop nose. Taste is light to medium body, a good balance of malt and berry flavor with a slight watery finish. Light berry aftertaste. A pretty decent summer berry fruit brew.

(Tap) Pours a reddish amber color with a nice head. Raspberry aroma is quite strong. Lots of raspberry in the taste, but in no means overdone. Well balanced with a good amount of malt. Not too complex, but a surprisingly good fruit beer that would make a very refreshing summer treat.

Draught. Big raspberry nose. Beautiful deep purple color with no head. Sweet but balanced with a nice crisp palate. Fruity, but very well done.

12oz Bottle. I really dislike fruit beer but, I try to rate beer against others of its style not according to my own individual taste. I didn’t hate this beer. The smell of Raspberry is definitely predominate but not totally overpowering. I found the malt-blend to be decent and overall the beer was quite refreshing. Good beer.
