Commercial Description:
Great Divide's mantra is that real fruit makes real beer, so Great Divide ferments Wild Raspberry Ale with hundreds of pounds of real red and black raspberries. Wild Raspberry Ale is a truly effervescent, ruby red ale that achieves the almost impossible balance between malted barley and tart raspberry fruitiness. Its naturally tart character makes Wild Raspberry the ultimate accompaniment to spicy Mexican food or on its own as a stand-alone session beer.

Bottle. Raspberry malt flavor. Red-amber color with small head. Light raspberry malt flavor with a light hops finish. Average fruit beer but did like the hoppiness of this one.

Tap at Barcade: Pours like cranberry juice, and has a cranberry/raspberry juice aroma. Very simple flavor and not too fruity. Tastes like breakfast juice served in a cafeteria. Light crystal malt note somewhere in there. Nothing good. Fruit beers tend to be hit or miss.

Substantial raspberry aroma. Maybe a bit of malt. Very reddish color with a white head that turns to film. Thin to medium body. Carbonation is smooth and moderate - no bite. Starts with raspberry juice, has some malt that is sort of overwhelmed, and is followed by more raspberry; finishes dry and bitter. The bitter is more like chewed raspberry seeds than hop. Real fruit does make real fruit beer. Kudos for an excellent effort.

A tasty fruit beer. Pours a deep red with a slight white head. Very nice aroma of malt and rasberries (although I swear I detect a little boysenberry in there). Taste is above average for a fruit beer. The raspberry flavor is subdued by malt. Very nice balance. No aftertaste. A great summer beer.

refreshing simple beer, but nothing special. While i love the dark cherry color, im not crazy about this beer. starts weak, finishes with a hint of raspberry

Pours reddish amber with white head. Malt aroma with a berry accent. Light raspberry flavor with heavy malt. OK.

It is what it is. If there is no extract or syrup in this, then it’s a fine fruit beer. It’s not meant to do anything but taste like fruit anyway. Not too sweet, not enough tart, decent body.

Bottle. Unclear reddish amber with nice white head. Very malty aroma with berries. Sweet raspberry flavour with lots of malt present. A very nice bitter finish, but this beer could have done well with some sourness added and a little more berry flavour. It’s an ok beer, but I expected more coming from these guys.
