Commercial Description:
Great Divide's mantra is that real fruit makes real beer, so Great Divide ferments Wild Raspberry Ale with hundreds of pounds of real red and black raspberries. Wild Raspberry Ale is a truly effervescent, ruby red ale that achieves the almost impossible balance between malted barley and tart raspberry fruitiness. Its naturally tart character makes Wild Raspberry the ultimate accompaniment to spicy Mexican food or on its own as a stand-alone session beer.

Dark ruby topped by 1 cm of dense pinkish white foam. Simple brew - malt and raspberry. Bittersweet and very lightly tart. Tates like raspberry skins, more bitter than sweet. Malt background throughout. Balanced, medium body. Least impressive GD brew I’ve had.

From bottle. Pours an over-carbonated purple/brown with huge off white head. Nose of fresh raspberries. Flavor is really tart, with not much in the way of anything else. A let down after the nose.

First beer that I rated on this site. Wish I rated something better for first time. Bottle pured, it had a red wine color to it. Not much of a head and what head there was, disappeared quickly. Smelled nick like raspberries. Just tasted like crap. I don’t usually like fruity beers anyway. Would not recommend.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of Secret Santa. Pours a clear, deep red with an ever so slightly pink head. This was an incredibly livevly pour; I had to just about drip the beer into the glass to prevent it from foaming over the top of the glass, which annoyed the shit out of me. Way over-carbonated. Pleasant aroma of berries. Lighter berry flavor than the aroma would indicate. Some malt also in the flavor. Tart finish. An OK fruit beer, but nothing special.

Good, light pink head of medium to large bubbles. Sweet strawberry aroma with a nice caramel malt backbone. Decent carbonation. Some vanilla also. Color is a deep port reddish brown. Mild raspberry flavor with more vanilla and soft malts. Typical synthetic fruit flavor for a beer. Finishes a little tart and little lingering dry raspberry. Ok, but would not buy again.

Botte from ABC in Naples FL. Pours deep copper, with purple hues. Pale pink head. Malty and fruity raspberry aroma, nothing too complex. Thin texture. Flavor of pale malt and raspberry, but bland. Malt backbone is weak and there is not enough sweetness to compliment the raspberry. I had higher expectations for this one considering the brewer, but perhaps this was not targeted for beer enthusiasts.
