Maybe I’m just not a fan or fruit beers (then explain my like of a good lambic), but the past three fruit beers I’ve had left me hanging and wishing for more. It comes across as if it woudl be refreshing, with bits of fruit goo in the bottle, a fizzy pour and a mediocre head. All of that is lost once it gets in your mouth. Extremely bitter and, possibly maybe, just maybe, skunked, although the smell didn’t foretell it. Color is as others described, a bluish red wine (cloudy) pour.(Bottle Pour 12/5/2006) morrdt (609), Jacksonville, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Nov 15, 2006 Bottle. Pours an almost red wine like color if you water it down just a touch, with a light white head. Raspberry aroma is evident but not overwhelming, which is nice. Taste is a nice ale with a raspberry aftertaste. Finishes clean. A nice change of pace. chef201atc (249), Weatherford, Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 3, 2006 The pour is clear deep red, almost the color of a blush wine, topped off by a slightly pink, foamy head that quickly diminishes. The nose is – surprise! – berries, with slight floral and musty notes. This beer is very lively and crisp on the tongue – sort of get the sensation of drinking a carbonated cranberry juice. The flavor is all berries with a tart finish. cheapdark (2047), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Nov 3, 2006 Updated: Aug 11, 2007RE-RATED 8/2007: On tap at the Mad Mex in Robinson. Has a slight raspberry aroma. Good creamy carbonation. Nice friendly raspberry flavors, more likable. OLD RATING: Smelled of fresh cranberry/raspberry. Thick foamy head. Not as sweet as I expected. Finish of a little bitter hops. Not as good as great divide esb or dpa. jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 21, 2006 Bottle: Pours an amber reddish color that is just darker than a fruit flavored iced tea. The head is large, but dissapeared rapidly. A bit overly carbonated in my opinion, has some raspberry notes, as well as a sweet & sour character. Thin bodied and pretty basic, there are better fruit beers out there. moejuck (1172), Ohio, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 20, 2006 This raspberry beer was a let down. The pour was a decent looking red color with a light pink head. The aroma was a musty raspberry smell--not so great for a fruit beer. The flavor was dry, and boring. Mouthfeel is very thin and watery. howie (549), DeForest, Wisconsin, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Oct 16, 2006 Beautiful coppery-red color, fading pink head. Aroma of raspberry jam. Thin and effervescent. Tart berry flavors, no yeast character or noticeable hops. Would be a refreshing summer quencher. Lubiere (4552), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 15, 2006 Slightly pink red ale with a thick overflowing light pink head. A rather dry raspberry aroma very tart and natural. In mouth, the tartness of the fruit is very nice, with light malt and honey. Reminds me of the old St-Ambroise Framboise. A summer quaffer. Bieropholie importation.
