Commercial Description:
Great Divide's mantra is that real fruit makes real beer, so Great Divide ferments Wild Raspberry Ale with hundreds of pounds of real red and black raspberries. Wild Raspberry Ale is a truly effervescent, ruby red ale that achieves the almost impossible balance between malted barley and tart raspberry fruitiness. Its naturally tart character makes Wild Raspberry the ultimate accompaniment to spicy Mexican food or on its own as a stand-alone session beer.

Not sweet and cloying like most fruit beers and has a acidic, mineral bitterness with a a bit of tartness. I like it as much as New Glarus Raspberry tart which overplays the tartness. This is too watery and needs some hops to get a better rating from me. Doesn’t come close to toro peach flavor - my favorite fruit ale.

sampled at the brewery. Aroma is rasberry and some malt, taste is slighlty tart and lightly sweet rasberries. Since they were added to the primary fermentation, this wasn’t too bad. Thin bodied but that is accepted for the style.

Red-tinged amber color, strong aroma of cool fresh raspberries, taste is more like unsweetened hard ice tea than a beer. Very refreshing, recommended if you like fruit beers.

Red color with a tan/red head. Sweet/grainy aroma that isn’t the best. I like this beer.but don’t bother if you don’t like fruity beers. This should be obvious.

Huge carbonation. Clear amber to pink color with tan head. Raspberry aroma and just a touch of malt. This beer explodes in my mouth yet has a weak flavor of sour and slightly sweet berry, some malt and maybe a hint of hop bitterness. Not much of a beer.

Pours a nice bubbly head into my favorite sampling tulip. Looks cloudy with lots of carbonation. It smells like metal with a a little raspberry. Tastes like acetaminophen with just a hint of real raspberries. Leaves a unpleasant aftertaste... this is more justification why I buying singles first.

Medium raspberry aroma with some seltzer. Pinke tinged head. Purplish copper color. Not as much raspberry as I would have though. OK beer. Refreshing but not great.

Bottle. Pours ruby to pink in color. Small blushing head. Soft raspberry notes in the nose along with some grain. Taste is big raspberry, some candyish cherry notes, light grains and some sugary notes. Body is light and dry. Finishes with more big fruit flavors (cherry and raspberry) and grains. Not bad.
