Commercial Description:
Great Divide's mantra is that real fruit makes real beer, so Great Divide ferments Wild Raspberry Ale with hundreds of pounds of real red and black raspberries. Wild Raspberry Ale is a truly effervescent, ruby red ale that achieves the almost impossible balance between malted barley and tart raspberry fruitiness. Its naturally tart character makes Wild Raspberry the ultimate accompaniment to spicy Mexican food or on its own as a stand-alone session beer.

Raspberry on the nose. Pours pink. The flavor is clean and light, definitely highlighted by raspberries. The thing I liked is it wasn’t overly sweet.

Pours a light pinkish with a slighly pink head. The aroma has a faint raspberry oder and the flavor is lightly so. Slight astringent quality overall.

Poured a clear red with a thin, bubbly head. Smells weakly of raspberries. Palate thin. Taste is clean and finishes dry, but not very raspberry-tasting, just sweet.

I’m always a little disappointed with Great Divide. I always think they’re going to be a little better than they are. This was no exception, in fact, this was the bain of it. 12oz: a fake rasberry aroma, sort of like a kids juice box. The flavors reminded me of raspberry soda - carbonated weak flavors.

Pours out a deep amber colour with a rediculous foamy tan/amber head. Scent is strongly of raspberries which pretty much overrides other notes. They use actual raspberry as opposed to an extract. Flavour is incredibly sharp at first then quickly becomes sour but eventually levels out into raspberry and then stays there. Beer is lacking in real depth but is definitely unique and fruity it is just unfortunate that the fruitiness is slightly sour and fermented in character.. given the nature of this beer you would be safer defaulting to a good lambic

Pours brown with purplish tint and a beige head. Lots of musty raspberries on the aroma - bits of malt detectable, but mainly there are berries. Medium body with quite a bit of carbonation. Starts a bit musty earthy malt with some raspberries. Finish is a bit sour and lightly spicy. An okay fruit beer.

Bottle: Red colour, with a nice creamy foam. Aroma of raspberry, and a cider feeling nose. Weery sweet and almost a cider in the mouth.Light bitternes. short finish.
