Commercial Description:
Great Divide's mantra is that real fruit makes real beer, so Great Divide ferments Wild Raspberry Ale with hundreds of pounds of real red and black raspberries. Wild Raspberry Ale is a truly effervescent, ruby red ale that achieves the almost impossible balance between malted barley and tart raspberry fruitiness. Its naturally tart character makes Wild Raspberry the ultimate accompaniment to spicy Mexican food or on its own as a stand-alone session beer.

Bottle. Not a good showing from GD. I thought the pour was pretty cool looking, with the pink tint and pink shaded head. The smell was of artificial raspberry, though. The same with the taste. A bit watery in the mouth. Nothing eventful on the finish. Overall - unappealing.

Bottle - Pours deep reddish brown with thick foamy light pink head. Aroma is full of rasberry and a touch of maltiness that lets you know it’s still beer. Palate is somewhat thin and full of carbonation. Upfront taste is tart rasberry followed up with just a touch of malty sweetness. Aftertaste is dry tart rasberry. I haven’t experimented with many fruit beers, but this one doesn’t seem too bad, especially if you’re a fan of rasberry.

12oz bottle. Pours a light purpley hazy color with a small pink head. Very carbonated and bubbly. Nose is sweet sugary raspberrys and syrup. Palate is very fizzy. Flavor is raspberries again, very sweet, light sweet malt notes and a sticky finish.

Wonderful aroma of chocolate, oats, and raspberry. Color is darker amber with a red hue and off-white fairly thick head that lasts. Flavor is a bit disapointing. Stong bite at first, followed by a flavor of old, squishy raspberries. Little to no aftertaste. Not a strong friut beer.

355 ml bottle. Ruby red with a light haze. Average white head. Great looking. Syrupy sweet raspberry aroma. A clean malty background. Lightly sour raspberry flavour. Really nice flavour complexity, and not the least, it is extremely inviting and refreshing. Medium-bodied with a gentle soft texture. More dry than sweet. Almost no hops can be detected. This must be one of the better fruit-ales that I’ve tried. They’ve been quite successful in getting the fruit aromas and flavours through. Finishes somewhat bitter and with a watery feeling.

Very small light pinkish head over hazy light purple body. Sweet, dense natural raspberry and rhubarb aroma with some acidity. Strong raspberry metal taste with some malts and lingering bittersweetness. Somewhat watery. Lingering stale watery bitter metal raspberry taste that’s really disagreeable. Aroma is really nice, taste not bad, and lingering aftertaste unpleasant. (0.355l bottle.)

Dark red in color, like raspberry Kool-Aid. Pinkish head that dissipates into a whitish layer on top. The tang of raspberries in the nose, almost had to dunk my nose to get a full aroma. First taste is strong, very strong and malty, hard to detect the real fruit involved, but then it hits you. Blandly. Okay, pretty watered down. I’ve had much better fruit beers.
