Commercial Description:
Great Divide's mantra is that real fruit makes real beer, so Great Divide ferments Wild Raspberry Ale with hundreds of pounds of real red and black raspberries. Wild Raspberry Ale is a truly effervescent, ruby red ale that achieves the almost impossible balance between malted barley and tart raspberry fruitiness. Its naturally tart character makes Wild Raspberry the ultimate accompaniment to spicy Mexican food or on its own as a stand-alone session beer.

bottle - Pours dark red with a moderate head that fades within a couple minutes. The aroma is mostly of raspberries with some malt. The taste matches the aroma. It’s not subtle or complex, but for what it is, it’s fairly good.

Aroma of off-the-bush rasberries, jam, and sugar. A touch of vinegar as well. Looks and tastes like raspberry soda. Carbonated, syrupy, some maple syrup and malt, and some carmel in the flavor. Decent.

Very reddish with a reddish tinted white head. Had a decent aroma of razz in it. The body was fairly nice and fruity, pears, razz. Decent brew.

A very strong punch in the nose raspberry aroma. An amber appearance with a moderate head. The flavor is a raspberry beret, the kind you’d find in a second hand store. Some wheat flavors also exist. There isnt much subtley with the fruit. The mouthfeel is quite carbonated. Overall if you dig raspberries this is it!

Aroma is what you’d expect - raspberries and a little barley. The pour is a deep red, with a massive white head. I’m expecting a lot at this point...then comes the soft body. The raspberries are there, but there is little else. The finish is dry and light. Very drinkable, but not very desirable. I’d think this was about 2% ABV.

Pours dark ruby, white head. The predominant aroma is sweet raspberries. Flavor is raspberries, but not a lot, some bready malts and finishes dry. Not real good, but not awful.

Bottle marked best before 6/2002. Small fizzy ivory head that mostly diminished, minimal lacing, carbonated, transparent, and a ruby red hue. Simple sweet, sour raspberry nose. Flavor was sweet, sour, raspberries, artificial fruit juice taste. Sweet, tart, tingly, and dry mouthfeel. Light body.

The aroma is raspberries with yeast, malt, and a little skunk. The appearance is a hazy red gold with a huge head. The flavor is basically malt and raspberries. The palate is average. The aftertaste is slightly bitter and tart. Overall it’s not hard to drink but I feel that the fruit flavor is too subtle.
