Commercial Description:
Great Divide's mantra is that real fruit makes real beer, so Great Divide ferments Wild Raspberry Ale with hundreds of pounds of real red and black raspberries. Wild Raspberry Ale is a truly effervescent, ruby red ale that achieves the almost impossible balance between malted barley and tart raspberry fruitiness. Its naturally tart character makes Wild Raspberry the ultimate accompaniment to spicy Mexican food or on its own as a stand-alone session beer.

12 oz bottle. Pours a coppery red color, with a light reddish head that is slow to fade. Smells only barely like raspberries, more of a general sweet smell, with a slight hint of alcohol. The taste is that of and extremely mellow nature. It’s only slightly sweet, and slightly malted as well. A decent combination. A very bubbly yet silky palate.

Low white head on an intense ruby red body. At first comes the beery tast, not too bitter but characteristic, then the rasberry flavour develops powerfully. As usaual for US beers, not indication nof the alcohol percentage on the bottle (strange hbit). This is a perfect fruit beer, great for dessert and enjoyable any time, especially in the Summer. I was very pleased after my first try.

Pours a very dark ruby red, with some light visable at the bottom of the glass. The head is lite and disappears quickly. The nose is dull berry, like a residual smell of fruit. Some sweetness, woodsy smell is also present. The aroma reminds me of "Dole’s wild berry juice" The taste is so smooth, I could drink this all night. It starts fruity on the palate, it has slight carbonation and a little extra sweetness. The hops are present but very faint. This is a great session beer

Bottle. Pours a lavender color with nice clarity and head that leaves quickly. Nose like most other rasberry beers... a little fruity rasberry - perhaps artificially enhanced and some hint of malt or corn sneaking in at the end of the sniff. Taste is much better than any lighter fruit beer that I have had. Certainly has rasberry flavor, but also good sweet maltiness and a great medium body with nice stickiness. Finish has a little tartness along with a tiny bit of bitter. I like this beer. Couldn’t drink more than one or two, but not bad. I’m very surprised....

Body is red/brown with a tan quick fading head. Aroma is sweet malts with some light raspberry and blackberry. Flavour is sweetend malt from the raspberry flavour. Not real crisp and fresh, ends a little bland.

(Bottle) Purchased at Beers of the World in Rochester, NY. Pours a medium, almond head with a copper body. Nose of solid raspberry pits and sour milk. A jammy flavour is tranformed by a malted front and a mildly tarted raspberry finish. The texture is lightly oiled and screams to Mommy, "time to brush you teeth, dear, as you have seeds in your teeth before bed."

Bottle. Pretty amber red with growing foamy eggshell head. Tart, authentic fruit aroma, slightly sour, bread/doughy. Light mouthfeel; dissapointing underling beer flavor - what’s under this - bland ale? overed with sweet sucrose raspberry. tastes a bit too close to a wine cooler, and I do love a good framboise, but this ain’t it - extremely watery palate.

Draught. Clear ruby color with thin white head. Pleasant raspberry nose. The raspberry flavor is accented by a bit of chocolate maltiness and cereal grain. The flavors are well blanced without a cloying fake raspberry taste. Nice fruit beer.
