Commercial Description:
Great Divide's mantra is that real fruit makes real beer, so Great Divide ferments Wild Raspberry Ale with hundreds of pounds of real red and black raspberries. Wild Raspberry Ale is a truly effervescent, ruby red ale that achieves the almost impossible balance between malted barley and tart raspberry fruitiness. Its naturally tart character makes Wild Raspberry the ultimate accompaniment to spicy Mexican food or on its own as a stand-alone session beer.

09.30.05 From 12oz bottle at brewery. Very cool of these guys to have an open house during the GABF weekend. Generous and enthusiastic hosts. This fruit beer is a crimson brown with tiny and fading white head. Smells like an amber with fresh raspberries crushed right in the beer. Dry stuff, which is nice in a fruit brew, and not overly sweet or artificial.

(bottle) Red-brown body with an off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, raspberry -- pleasant, not artificially sweet. Taste is the same. Light-medium body.

Bottled. Dark red colour, small white head. Strong raspberries and weak hoppy notes in aroma. Like watery raspeberry lemonade in flavour along with malty hints. Raspberryish aftertaste. Not a very good mix...

Bottled
Bright red color, small white head. Strong fresh rasberry jam aroma. Malty, dry with strong presence of rasberry. These two (malt&rasberry) don’t mix very well together.

(Stockholm Beer Festival 2005) Red/orange with a white head. Sweetish respberry aroma, sweetish raspberry flavor. Some bitterness in the finish. A beer far from representative for the great brewery.

Bottled. Hazy reddish brown. Raspberry aroma. Sweet with clean hard mouthfeel. Besides the raspberry flavour there is not really much to this beer. It is too sweet bo be drinkable, and has nothing ejnjoyable to offer flavourwise. Why does a respectable brewer like Great Divide bother to bottle this?

Bottle: Dark teletubby blood red with mr. clean levels of head and a touch of pink lacing. The nose is syrupy, nutty and fruity like a wild boar stuffed with wildberries. The flavor is dry, a touch tart, with some fruitiness, just like George W. Bush, but less incompitence. The finish is boring and dry. Lack of sweetness and overall like smoking a bowl of raspberry lemonade tea.

Bottle Pours a very attractive hazy ruby color with a fluffy light pink head. Aroma is very nice light malty and moderately raspberry-ish. Rather inviting actually. The flavors are a bit of a let down. The raspbery is there, a bit, but woody and rough. More like saw dust than raspberry. Interesting but somewhat dissapointing
