Commercial Description:
Great Divide's mantra is that real fruit makes real beer, so Great Divide ferments Wild Raspberry Ale with hundreds of pounds of real red and black raspberries. Wild Raspberry Ale is a truly effervescent, ruby red ale that achieves the almost impossible balance between malted barley and tart raspberry fruitiness. Its naturally tart character makes Wild Raspberry the ultimate accompaniment to spicy Mexican food or on its own as a stand-alone session beer.

Bottle shared with blankboy, HogTownHarry, jerc and tupalev - courtesy of jerc. Ruby-pink colour with a small head. Candy/berry aroma with some malt in the background. Body is quite thin and watery, and the flavour is bland - there’s some berry flavour in there if you look for it, but it’s pretty subtle and stale. Reminded me of the KLB Raspberry Wheat. I can’t believe the same brewer responsible for the Yeti could make this boring concoction.

This was a single at the local bottle shop so i’ll give it a whurl..Purple-tan colour..no real lacing. Sweet berry-like smell, tastes like a botched purple haze, but i’m not a fruit beer person at all so..actually i am, but this was a stupid beer...

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jerc & tupalev -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a clear ruby with a spare white head. Nice raspberry aroma. The flavour is very raspberry-ish but it’s overly watery and somewhat dissapointing. I’m not much for Fruit Beer and though this is a decent one it won’t make me a convert anytime soon.

Bottle (12oz) - Shared with blankboy, GregClow, jerc and tupalev - courtesy of yours truly. Did not intend to finish the evening with this one, but that’s how it went. Poured ruby, clear, decent head. Initially vegetal, the pleasant if not entirely convincing raspberry aroma emerged with warming. Pretty bland flavour - more like a cooler made from raspberry concentrate, at bit metallic and harsh. Mouthfeel metallic andwatery - this should be sticky but it wasn’t even that. Feh.

Ruby bodied with a small white film of a head. Dry, tart raspberry aroma is quite strong, making the bland watery dilute raspberry flavour that much more disappointing. Thin palate. A scan of the reviews makes me wonder about the consistency of this since I clearly did not drink the same beer as some of these rave reviews. Innoffensive but boring.

Real attractive dark red/slightly brown body with a thin trail of yeast pour falling into the beer. The aroma is heavy raspberry sweetness. Flavor really shines through as a quality brew, after a heavy fruity nose, this really pulls off a solid malt depth with a shallow hint of the berries. Palate is smooth and very welcoming, as to be expected of a fruit beer.

Poured a pinkish purple color with a small amount of quickly dissapating offwhite head. Aroma is intensly raspberry, wheaty, and slightly yeasty. Flavor is light and crisp and refreshing and also very much raspberry, but not too much that it ruins the beer. Overall, i thought this beer to be very enjoyable and perfect for the hot summer months.

Bottle poured a reddish purple with a lavender head. Aroma was raspberry with a hint of bread. Palate was light. Flavors of raspbery with bread.
