Commercial Description:
Great Divide's mantra is that real fruit makes real beer, so Great Divide ferments Wild Raspberry Ale with hundreds of pounds of real red and black raspberries. Wild Raspberry Ale is a truly effervescent, ruby red ale that achieves the almost impossible balance between malted barley and tart raspberry fruitiness. Its naturally tart character makes Wild Raspberry the ultimate accompaniment to spicy Mexican food or on its own as a stand-alone session beer.

I see this beer has had mixed reviews... I picked up a sixer at Total Wines in PHX and I was not disappointed....Back in my early craft beer days Blue Moon made a Raspberry Ale I rather enjoyed...This, although different than I remembered (less ’malty’ flavored) brings back that nostalgia vibe for me. Pours a reddish brown color with small head....I was disappointed in the aroma dept. It was lacking.... Flavor was light, crisp, lacking a certain ’malty’ flavor that some of it’s raspberry brown ale cousins have, but it is full of berry flavor. Great raspberry aftertaste! I know it’s not manly to like fruity beers, but we all indulge every once in a while. Don’t we? Give this one a try!

Bottle. Pours a ruby color with off white head. Aroma of wheat, grass, raspberries, Not as fruity as I expected. Flavor was some light malts, raspberries, little else. Really strong fresh raspberries in the duration. A decent fruity beer, but not a huge fan of the style.

This wasn’t as bad as I was expecting it to be. Aroma is light and crisp, with pleasant notes of fresh raspberries. Flavor is wheat and malt, with fresh raspberries. The finish is a bit off...cloying but not terribly bad. Overall it was pretty good for a fruit/wheat beer.

Beautiful magenta color and lovely floral, raspberry aroma. Unfortunately, I don’t think my bottle was fresh. From Gulf Liquors on Miami Beach, it was covered in dust and had black specks floating around that tasted like cloves. Other than that, there was almost no flavor in this beer- like the blue paw blueberry wheat. Also this has an absurd amount of carbonation, I was burping for about an hour after half a beer. I would like to try it fresher, but until then I will have to rate it thusly.

On tap at Papago. Pours a mahogany color with a trim tan head and mild carbonation. Smells of raspberry jam. Tastes of tart raspberries, caramel, and barley. Sours slightly on the finish. Fairly mild in flavor and suitable for summer consumption, but lacks complexity and depth.

Pours a nice deep red color raspberry on the nose but not overbearing ... taste is just right not too faint not too tart ...sweet and mellow with a slight bitter at the end this is a great balanced beer and its sessionable

12 ounce bottle from a bottle shop in Sylva, NC. Pours a slightly hazy cranberry red color with a large head. Annoyingly persistent retention and decent lacing. Aroma is raspberries with strong nutty notes. Taste uis raspberries, caramel, and a nutty graininess. Medium bodied. Eh.

Pours a rasberry red with a small amount of head. Hey I rhymed! Light bodied with strong rasberries on the nose with a hint of malt there as well. You have to look though as the rasberries are very much there. I enjoyed it though for a fruit beer, nice and clean. This would be a great one for those hot summer days.
