Commercial Description:
Great Divide's mantra is that real fruit makes real beer, so Great Divide ferments Wild Raspberry Ale with hundreds of pounds of real red and black raspberries. Wild Raspberry Ale is a truly effervescent, ruby red ale that achieves the almost impossible balance between malted barley and tart raspberry fruitiness. Its naturally tart character makes Wild Raspberry the ultimate accompaniment to spicy Mexican food or on its own as a stand-alone session beer.

I like this one. I don’t usually go for fruit beers as they are usually too syrupy. THis one is different. The flavor hits you hard, but very cleanly, ulnlike Sam Adams Cherry Wheat..and the finish is clean, you don’t feel like you’ve just eaten a hard candy like most fruit beers.

I picked this as my first sample from this month’s Beer of the Month Club shipment. I had a few bottles of this while relaxing on my deck this evening. This all-natural brew pours a clear medium ruby. The large pink hued head is rocky with good lacing, and is fully lasting. The nose is like raspberry cheesecake - delicious. The delectable flavor starts slightly acidic with a sweet middle and a long rich spicy sweet finish. The light to medium body is creamy and fizzy with a clean feel to the finish. The level carbonation is much higher than I normally prefer, but for this brew it works well. This is the most refreshing beer I have had in some time, outstanding.

I actually liked this a lot. Beautiful red, deep pink color. Refreshing- nice balance raspberry taste. Not sweet. Tastes like a raspberry iced tea.

I actually liked this a lot more than the other people seemed to. While I too enjoy the Yeti and Hercules, it is nice that Great Divide makes a few "everyday" drinkables. I can’t see having a Yeti Imperial Stout Oak Aged with my burger. This smells wonderful, very berry infused. Pours raspberry in color (imagine that) with a slightly caramel colored head that is short-lived. Taste is light, with raspberry dominating. Not very sweet in my opinion, just berry flavored. Reminicent of a Raspberry Cream (Framboise and Hoegaarden mix) but a little darker, more hearty. I recommend this as a basic beer. It wasn’t meant to be aged, it’s just good!

12oz bottle. Pours reddish brown with a thick lasting pinkish head. Aroma of raspberry and strawberry with malty undertones. Taste is of yeast and raspberry with underlying maltiness. Thick palate with a balanced finish. Amazing beer, and relatively cheap too..

I throughly enjoyed this beer. The raspberry flavor is very apparent, but I don’t think it is over the top. Good beer to sit back and relax with.

Very nice! Light foam. Nice brown color with a trace of red. Raspberries are pretty subtle, but a nice background. A bit on the sour side.

Fruit beer is not too popular on here but is probably my favorite next to wheat beer. This is a beautiful looking ruby red beer. It smells refreshing and at times is. It’s weird I have bottles that I loved and others I had trouble drinking in the same six pack. The taste of both the black and raspberry is prominent but its a little heavy Should of been a wheat beer instead of an ale. Still not terrible though and the better bottles rate at least 4.5 but I had to average it out
