Commercial Description:
Great Divide's mantra is that real fruit makes real beer, so Great Divide ferments Wild Raspberry Ale with hundreds of pounds of real red and black raspberries. Wild Raspberry Ale is a truly effervescent, ruby red ale that achieves the almost impossible balance between malted barley and tart raspberry fruitiness. Its naturally tart character makes Wild Raspberry the ultimate accompaniment to spicy Mexican food or on its own as a stand-alone session beer.

Rather raspberry all around. However, like many other raspberry beers the sour/sweetness seems to distract a bit from the natural wheat. However, this is something that is rather enjoyable and highly drinkable, so I do have to give it credit for that.

Draft from Brewgrass Festival. I’m not sure this is worthy of being served in a flute. It’s definitely better than most mass-produced fruit beers, but it’s no raspberry lambic or Raspberry Tart. Tastes like a Mexican amber with a good deal of raspberries thrown in. The raspberry taste is nearly authentic but not as strong as I like. Just okay, but much more drinkable than most of its style.

lighter and not very complex, but does offer the rasberry fruit backgrounds which compliment a hot days lunch.

Pours an amber mahogany with a quickly dissipating head. Aroma is of raspberries, butter, and dust. Medium bodied. Taste is of (drum-roll) raspberries followed by a wet bready interlude and a very dry finish. Fruit beer can be tasty when done right. This one needs a bit more malt depth for it to work but it is better than I expected.

From a bottle poured ark ruby color with lots of head. Nice raspberry flavor with a quick finish.

Pours with a foamy off-white head. Redish clear, body. Aroma of berry, honey, wheat, hay and dirt. Taste is slightly metallicy, astringent wheat, with berries in the back. Fizzy and dry.
