Commercial Description:
Great Divide's Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yeti's hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish. 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

650ml bottle in a Duvel glass. Pours pitch black with a thick, rich, warm brown head and nice lacing. The aroma is nice with strong notes of dark chocolate and coffee with an underlying maltiness. Not too surprisingly this smells a lot like Founder’s Breakfast Stout, though perhaps slightly less rich. As it warms up a little I think I get a hint of cinnamon. Wow, the flavor really jumps out at you and has good layers. The alcohol is up front and maybe a touch too strong at first, overpowering the other flavors a little. Once that settles down I get the expected sweetness, with chocolate and a bit if coffee. Mouthfeel is pleasing, not too thick nor thin. Drinkability suffers a bit from the strong alcohol taste (and content). Overall very nice though.

Wow! This is delicious. From a tap, pours a thick jet black with nice tan head. Smells of coffee, chocolate, roasted malts, and hops...like a good Imperial Stout should. The taste was much like the smell, but with molasses and much more hops. Mouthfeel is very thick and chewy. Quite an enjoyable beverage.

Pours black as expected with a nice rich dark tan head that clings to the side of the glass. Aroma is big chocolate and the flavor is a balanced bitterness. Coffee notes, but not overpowering.

12 oz. bottle. Hoppy and chocolatey aroma. Like dry, bitter, dark chocolate with just a hint of sweetness. The smell is not as strong as I would have expected. Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with many small bubbles. Large amount of frothy, surprisingly dark brown head that looks like chocolate milk. Good lacing. Taste of rich coffee and dark chocolate. Sweetness emerges upon multiple sips. Nice roasted dryness in the sides of the mouth. Long, bitter aftertaste. Heavy body. Syrypy and oily in the palate. Yeti is good but not as complex as I would like from an elite imperial stout.

Pours a deep stout black. Mocha head. Roasted nose with chocolate undertones. Sweet, rich taste with nice roasted coffee complimenting the chocolate. Very easy to drink.

thick lacing and a light brown head rest atop the dark cola body. a hoppy bitterness rises forth over the malt base. Yeti doesn’t have the thickest mouthfeel for an imperial stout, but its not too thin, either. Worth trying again.

Bottled August 07. Perhaps the beer was a bit past its best. I was really expecting something exciting, but the bottle poured with very litle carbonation and no discernable head. Very darK and particularly bitter with some coffee notes. I enjoyed this but nothing as much as I had anticipated.
